Hi all,

First of all, I am new to this and I just started out with running own Sims since today.
I installed the latest OpenSim software ran the 32 bit installer and all seems to go fine. My region shows up on the Website Map API (Name= Deadly Hollows).

But if I go inworld, and search for my sim in Map I find a grey area and I cannot teleport to it, when I try to teleport I get a error message telling me there is No Route To Host.

Where did I screw up ?
Thnx in advice

After a couple of quick checks looks like something on your networking is stopping connections.

Make sure your port forwarding on your router is correct. UDP & TCP port 9000 (default) should be forwarded to your opensim server LAN IP.
Also make sure any firewall software on your opensim server (computer) is not blocking either the port or the application. You could just disable any/all firewall programs for a very short time and re-test.

I already forwarded Port 9000 TCP/UDP, assigned to my pc IP address given by the router (192.168.1.XX).

XP itself was asking if I would give access to the OSGrid program the first time I ran the installer and I accepted.

The program stops @ Saying hi to neighbour 9994,9992.

I have the XP firewall shut off now, but I am still unable to see my sim on the Inworld Map and cannot Teleport to it.

I see your sim on the map ok, and when i go to TP there i ger the following log:
Code:
20:50:13 - [MAPSEARCHMODULE]: search deadly returned 1 regions
20:50:25 - [HG ENTITY TRANSFER MODULE]: region 0e517b93-67f0-4f45-bcd4-29eb02cf15a8 flags: 4
20:50:25 - [ENTITY TRANSFER MODULE]: Final destination is x=9994 y=9991 0e517b93-67f0-4f45-bcd4-29eb02cf15a8@http://87.210.117.132:9000/
20:50:25 - [ENTITY TRANSFER MODULE]: Request Teleport to http://87.210.117.132:9000/ (http://87.210.117.132:9000/) Deadly Hollows/<128, 128, 1.5>
20:50:35 - [WEB UTIL]: osd request <166> (URI:http://87.210.117.132:9000/agent/9bd85667-8378-4feb-9edc-3eebff6facb9/0e517b93-67f0-4f45-bcd4-29eb02cf15a8/, METHOD:QUERYACCESS) took 10015ms overall, 0ms writing
20:50:35 - [WEB UTIL]: <166> osd request failed: The operation has timed out

That is merely showing a timeout of the connection. If I use my browser and goto http://87.210.117.132:9000 (your opensim server) it should show me the 'oops!' page, but my browser times out (try from a computer http://your_lan_ip:9000 and see if you get it locally). This is showing that TCP is not working between your sim and the internet, something is stopping it somewhere. Either a firewall, port forwarding not right, or could be your internet external IP address changed. Check http://www.whatsmyip.org/ and make sure your IP hasn't changed, if it has then update your configs with your current IP.

I also get the time-out page when I try to access with the url.
Changed the port range from 9000 to 9000~9003 TCP and 9000~9003 UDP.
XP Firewall is still off, and my IP doesn't change :) we've got an static IP-address from our ISP.

So I start to think it's a router problem

Edit:

Found 1 mistake, I can get to the "Oops" page now, but still cannot Teleport, going to take a look at all settings in my .ini file

Thnx for so far !

Edit 2:

I think I have this problem still present: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2936

Inworld map is Grey and error message for failed Teleport is "Could not teleport, Problems connecting to destination"

Your sim is working ok now, at least from the outside. I successfully TP'd there.

the problem you most likely have now is a NAT loopback issue. Your router needs to support NAT loopback in order for you to get to your sim from 'behind' your router. Not all routers support this, so best to check. It may just be a check box in your router config, or it may not support it at all. If it doesnt you may be able to update firmware, or use a 3rd party firmware for it (google this) that might enable NAT Loopback.

If you are on windows and you are running your sim and client from the same machine there is a loopback network adapter thing you can setup that may enable it. There is a thread somewhere on this forum that describes that, you would need to search for it.

I suspect once you get loopback working ok you should be able to access your sim ok.
