I get the error below on my terminal in OS Grid it only seems to be happening when I am in one of my 5 sims - Anidza3. It seems to only happen in the south west quarter of my sim, but has happened in other parts once or twice. There is not much here except plants and a walkway the whole sim is a wetlands nature walk. I am always walking when it happens it never happens if I am standing around building or just idle. When it happens it drops me out of the simulator back to a operating system prompt and I have to restart. Sometimes it happens several times in the same spot sometimes when I first log on and sometimes I am in the sim for quite some time before it happens.

the region is running on my dedicated personal server running Ubuntu server 12.04 with up to date patches, mono 2.10.8.1
Running the newest version of OS Grid software and has happened in the last 3 versions.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

Got a SIGSEGV while executing native code. This usually indicates
a fatal error in the mono runtime or one of the native libraries
used by your application.

It seems there is a problem with the less than complete version of Mono that Ubuntu runs as default.

Try this suggestion by grid admin and Linux guru Key Gruin

apt-get install mono-complete

I am running the complete version of mono and I am at the latest version . but thanks. If I can get my nerve up I might try to save and reinstall the OAR file maybe that will fix something.

Odd stuff. Because you mention a walkway, I have to wonder if the segfault is coming from ODE's handling of avatar collision with an irregular sculpted surface. Sure, everybody does it but who knows?

If reloading the OAR doesn't do the trick, then try making the walkway phantom in the problem area and see if the segfault persists.

This is just a shot in the dark, but have you run any memory testing utilities on your server to see if you have a marginal stick of RAM? It's not uncommon for a machine to boot and run well and then go wonky when the RAM takes a mind of its own due to heat or whatever.

Also, do these SIGSEGVs generate a core file? And, are you launching mono with any command line optimizations?

Anidza, what is the console or log file showing prior to the sigsegv message?
There could be any number of reasons for a sigsegv

Update

I created a new Sim and loaded the OAR file from the Sim giving me the error. I got the same error in the same area.

I think this might have something to do with collisions. On this Sim you walk on a elevated walkway the whole time you never touch the ground. The walk way is all normal prims. This last failure happened when I walked into a plant that was not phantom and I had just changed it to Phantom when it happened. I was not on the board walk this time but standing on normal ground. Very frustrating ...

Can you pastebin.com like 50+ lines prior to the crash?

Okay I posted the log from when I TP to the Region Anidza3 from Anidza5 to when it crashes with the SIGSEGV error .

it is on pastebin.com under Andiza

At the time I was just walking I am always walking when it happens I am walking on a normal prim not the ground sometimes it will happen under water when I am moving through plants I have put there.

the problem still has only happened on this one region and almost always in the same area of the region

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Post the actual link to the pastebin entry (pastebin is so widely used it's almost impossible to find a specific post by searching)
