Keep the training material related in some way to OSGrid and OpenSIM or tools that you would use externally to opensim such as image editors and database tools etc... but ultimately the material presented benefits OpenSIM and OSGrid.

If you have more than one sim you need to fix the function setup anyway. Maybe you have named the sims there differently?

When you say "sim" I have several regions running on the one simulator, the regions have different names but what is meant by sim name in this case?

Sorry, mean running instances of the simulator. The script allows you to define multiple instances. Their names are defined the
[ $SIM == "2" ]
within the function config.

ok, I only have one instance running,
this config is calling it sim 1, but how should the sim actually be named?

I am on a train at the moment and I have been really occupied these last weeks. I feel bad for dont having the time to finish this monit guide in the simple way I aim at... but I will. Maybe you will have figured it all out before that ;o)

You can set the name within the function setup here:
[ $SIM == "1" ]
That red part is the name.

Hey Void. glad to hear you are ok, we were getting worried,
Yes Bo is being very patient with me and I am grateful to him for that,
I believe we have almost got it fixed, but dont let that stop you from posting your tutorial because I know a few other people who want it and I am not sure I will be able to write a tutorial after getting mine set up.

Yes I have done that
Quote:
[ $SIM == "1" ]

but in this case that line is part of an "if" clause as in if $sim==1
I am still at a loss as to where to name the sim to 1
still getting "I have never heard of sim 1"

Well this is more for people who will run more than one instance. If it works for you properly (start, stop, console) there is no need to push on the script anymore.

Others can just modify the start function in way described here:
