I bet many ppl here have been wondering where Hans has been these last 4 weeks or so. Yes he goes away on trips but thats often only for a week. Sad news about him - From Pop Schumann -

Pop Schumann: mercalia, hans(hans hausermann) came back from his trip but barely made it to his home, he passed out and only 2 days later he was moved to a hospital, he is still there and they do there best to get him better, i do mail with his sister, thats how i know

so Pop cant relay any messages until she gets back.

I'm sure all our thoughts are with hans at this time - We would miss his zany prescence esp in Lbsa?

I definitely would! My thoughts are with him and I hope he's back soon.

if any one wants to see some of the places that Hans has toured, he has a YouTube site where they all are. For an elderly gent who is mostly blind he is a fantastic example.

Very very sad news about hans hausermann

I heard from Pop Schumann to day - "yes i did hear..... he is moved from a hospital unit to a hospice, he is not able to go home ever again, its that bad.he has peace with it, at 68, he looks beack to a well spend life and decided not to have further treatment for the cancers that seems to eat his body."

Very sad news about Hans Hausermann. A few people independantly contacted the hospice where he had been living the last 3 months as nothing had been seen or heard from him for some time.

Sad to say Hans passed away 27th July. He was 68. He would have been 69 this August

All the people who did email him early May can be sure they lifted his spirits. For a time he felt better ( he said ), but got tired very fast. Atleast he was able to get to Osgrid for a time, and was able to appreciate the warmth that we showed him.

The last thing that Hans wanted to do was to upload the last european trip that had cost him so dearly, after which he had collapsed. This took him many many hours to upload to YouTube, 481Karl. Hans had actually been a seaman for 20+ years and wanted to see as many cities ( rather than ports ) as possible & his birthplace, Berlin, that he had never seen.

I ll remember Hans for his lack of guile, his humour, his crazy builds ( though he brought some nice trains he had made over from SL) and his positive, live life to the full attitude.

He was at peace about his coming death, I was told by a close friend of his.

In the last email I got from him early May he said -

"greeting to all my friends byeeeeeeeeeeee"
