Post subject: I need "noob" help desperately!
PostPosted: Fri Jun 15, 2012 7:40 pm
Hi

I have a few projects I want to start on, that I am going to need customized "noobs" for. Basically what I need is stationary mannequins that I can dress up in costumes. In theory I could use NPCs but I intend on giving the sims away and I can't count on NPCs being enabled. Also I dread learning how to program at all.

What I'd really love is if anyone knows of any tutorials on customizing noobs and/or working with them.

I'd appreciate any help or pointers that y'all could give. Sorry I haven't looked but to be honest I've got no idea where to begin to look...

Hey Han,
I would point you in nebadon's direction. He has made a vendor which will display a rotating NPC with a given outfit and on click will give this outfit away. its a one click thing, easy to operate and looks great. Furthermore its CC, so no hassle. You can have a look at its operation at UCI edu1.

If you want some mannequins, you can use the noob male from Wright Plaza and I believe Trex (Blessed) has a female mannequin somewhere.

I saw a good female mannequin at Ptarmigan Park. What do you want to make the primitars do? If it's dialogue, you could consider getting them to say random phrases on a click using a mod of the misfortune script in the fortune cookies at Arcadia Asylum's place. I've done that with bartender dummies in SL before.

Thanks, Jamie, thanks Eryn.

I don't want them to do anything, per se; they're just props, basically. I'm going to grab the dummies you two have mentioned and take a look at UC edu1 as well. I suspect that I might be over-thinking it a bit; they're prim objects, I can play with the textures like any other prim objects.

I appreciate y'alls help -thank you!
