Have any of you got this working with 0.7.3 using a robust grid configuration? I failed. Then tried to set it up with 0.7.02 and got exactly the same error...maybe it's something I'm doing wrong...Wifi works great out of her Preconfigured hypergrided standalone though and I really like it....should be in core lol, but I want to use the latest 7.3.

Things appear to go wrong here maybe (This example is using 0.7.0.2 which is said to work.)

Code:
2012-01-15 16:20:11,671 INFO  - OpenSim.Region.CoreModules.World.WorldMap.WorldMapModule [WORLD MAP]: JPEG Map location: http://xxxxxxx.xxxx.org:9000/index.php?method=regionImage59c1a4a0b9ef11e0962b0800200c9a66

Ie..9000 is used by her pre configured package. I should be on 8002 or 8003? But cannot find a reference to :9000 in either robust.ini or config.include files

a few lines down it then finally fails to connect up to the grid

Code:
[GRID SERVICE]: Region Test (59c1a4a0-b9ef-11e0-962b-0800200c9a66) registered successfully at 2049536-2049024

Hi Sarah,
I am no expert on Diva Wifi but I have had several versions running both on standalone and robust grid.
Things to keep in mind....
1.The instructions for setting up Grid are totally different from setting up Standalone
2. As a new Opensim version comes out, after a short while Diva releases a wifi version compatible with that new release.

This means wifi does not behave like regular opensim.
I have also figured that 2 unclearly marked txt files are for 2 different systems,
WIFI.txt is instructions for standalone.
READMEWIFI.txt is instructions for grid.
For Standalone we work straight out of Divs's package and before you do anything you must run opensim.exe.config, and use http://your_domain_name:9000/wifi and in the WIFI.txt resides this line
Quote:
There is a separate distribution of Wifi targeted to grids.
Instructions are found elsewhere.
(this distribution is called Wifi for Robust server, compatible with OpenSim 0.7.2 which just includes some dlls to replace opensims defaults)
these instructions found elsewhere is called READMEWIFI.txt and it can be found in the standalone package also which can cause some confusion and suggest because the file is here we have the right package (wrong).
and in READMEWIFI.txt it says
Quote:
1 - Get your grid up & running.(and bla bla) then
2 - Place this diva wifi package in the machine where you have your Robust server running.

so for grid you dont use diva distro but use a regular grid release, get it running first, then ad Diva's files (from "Wifi for Robust server")to replace some of the dll's and so on until
Quote:
7 - Point your Web browser to http://yourdomain:8002/wifi and take it
from there!
.
My second point means that you cant just version around with Diva, but must stick with the version which the release was aimed at, and wait for Diva to release new version then
Quote:
UPDATES

To update your world to a newer diva release, simply run the tool
Update.exe

Finally are you sure when you say V0.7.0.2 you dont mean V0.7.2 which is the latest stable WIFI release? There are several versions between 7.02 and 7.2 and 7.1.
I hope this has been some help Sarah
Dont hesitate to ask more questions if you need to, Diva's wifi is an excellent system but in the traditional fashion of open source software the documentation leaves much to be desired, it does make complete sense when you fully understand it, it is not wrong, it is just hard to understand when you first read it all.
Regards
Cam

Thanks for your explanations Cam I did use the 0-7-2 for Robust server, and fathomed out what to do. I notice a new version has just been put up in the last day...I'll have a go with that again. Just tried and same error. It's slowly dawning on me that I am using it with an OSGrid version of 0.7.2...that might be why it's not working...

Yes for grid, just use OSGrid release (0.7.2) get it running first, and add the robust wifi files, then wait until Diva releases the updated version for 0.7.3, and change the whole thing then.

Ok I'm back..I am soooo confused as to what goes where in this. I am trying run a Grid with Robust. I have just one "bin" folder with everything in it.
I copy the contents of the supplied Wifi bin into this folder
Then I amended Robust.ini like it says. But I have not a clue where to put the WiFipages folder.

Got slight feeling I might be doing it completely wrong as I cant access the wifi site in my browser nor launch the region!

Can anybody tell me what goes where, the instructions for the directory structure are confusing. Thanks!

P.S. Also am using OSGrid release..maybe I should be using Opensim one?

I am using OPENSIM binaries 7.3 RC2.
(Wifi Grid setup)
directory structure:

+opensim
|--+Bin
....|--+<all your Opensim files>

in this scenereo, you want the wifi pages folder in the opensim folder, the same folder your bin directory is in, but not IN the bin directory!

all dll's go in the Bin directory...
and the the information in the wifi.example.ini gets merged and (modded to match your setup) into your robust.ini (or robust.HG.ini if hypergridding) in the appropriate heading areas.

hope this helps//

Kahn

Hi Sarah,
You have probably seen the release of Diva's 7.3 so I hope you are using that.

Exactly as Kahn stated.
In other words lets suggest the bin folder is inside a parent folder called opensim (divawifi) or whatever the name isnt as important as the fact that the bin folder is INSIDE another folder, it is in that parent folder where the wifi pages folder goes and you have the bin folder already correct, (the bin files go into the bin folder) so the wifi pages (folder) is in the same parent folder as the bin folder.
and finally when running...
Point your Web browser to http://yourdomain:8002/wifi

Ps I hope you are building a new blank simulator because Wifi is a 4 region mega as default so trying to merge from an existing simulator will create new issues.
Build a fresh grid and get it running, then get Wifi running, then import oars.

Thanks Cam, No I was trying to attach Wifi to an already existing Robust server running on the OSG download...it's probably why I am making life so difficult for myself. I will be better to download the divadistro version and then transfer the users account and regions with iar and oar backups.

Ok Sarah, but bare in mind that the diva distro is standalone (last time I looked) so to make it into a grid you should use OSGrid release, set it up for grid and get it running, then apply the grid files of diva, its a different set of dlls, I dont know why it is done like this but the release called "Wifi for Robust server" has no opensim files, its just a few dlls and part of the .ini .
The technique is to start a new grid, add the dlls to OSGrid's bin folder, add the wifi pages folder to OSGrids parent opensim folder and make the changes to the robust.ini, once you are happy it goes ok then load oars and iars, once you have it running for the first time, you are set, in future you just need to run the diva update.
