Now that Nebadon has announced the long awaited official dates for OSG5B we can start planning a bit better.
At the Town Hall Meeting we discussed that a lot of people were a bit disappointed that we didn't have a central party on the OSG Birthday regions last year. Partly for that reason Nebadon decided we would have 5 separate regions this year, with one dedicated entirely to Party, two regions for Exhibitions, one region for a special mesh Exhibition and one... well, we were thinking to take a trip down memory lane if the backup can be found. ;)

For the exhibitions: Currently we are still trying to make a decision for the best layout, size for each plot, maximum prims, etc. so I would like people to hold off selecting an actual plot for just now, but you can put your name down in this thread if you want to participate in the exhibition. It will give us an indication about the number of plots needed. Right now it looks like exhibitors will have a lot more room to display their builds than in previous years. 30x30 plots are in discussion...
Please also indicate if you wish to build a mesh or not, as we have a separate mesh region for everyone's convenience.

The regions will be interconnected by teleports to make travelling between them easy. The regions (search for OSG5B) are pretty bare at the moment, but we want to change that soon to kick things off.

I will keep you posted in this thread as soon as I have more information.
Thank you.

Question! (uhoh!)

What are the rules for building? Think of rating of the plots (PG, mature, adult, oddy-style :-) ), prim limits, commercial stuff, script use, etc.

Another question! (Oddy, shut up!)

Are the plots connected with walkways, are there some kind of streets between the plots?

[brb, potty for oddy]

And my final question today:

Will there be some kind of TP system that connects the OSG5B regions?

Greetz,
Oddy

Oddy.

1) They are grid plaza's, so think PG to be safe and sure. Prim limits about 800, slightly less is a safer bet. No Commercial stuff. Scripting limited to non lagging things, if something begins to lag the regions, Nebadon retains the right to KILL it.

2) Yes.

3) Yes.

4) Pass, next question, make it an easy one please.

Progress!

And yes, I'll answer your questions, just bare with me Oddy ;)

The exhibition regions are done in a garden style with 10 plots on each region, so 20 in total for prim / sculpt builds and 10 in total for the mesh region.
The plot size of 30x30 meters has been confirmed. There is a maximum prim use of 800 prims (not exactly sure yet how that will transpose to mesh, but I'll add that later).
Please note that because of the limit in plots at this point it would be either a mesh or a non-mesh plot, but not both. If however shortly before the event there are still plots available we would serve the plots on a first come first serve basis, e.g. since Sarah (Kline) noted she got both, I put her down for a prim/sculpt plot, but if a mesh plot is still available, she can have one there as well then ;)
This year the plots will be sold to the participants, so you have more control over the piece of land. You could for instance set a music stream there - something that was not possible in recent years. The group for exhibitors is "OSG5B Planners" and I will invite confirmed exhibitors into it.

Now for Odds questions:

1) The rules for building: Rating should be PG, if the need arises, we can see if we make one region PG, the other Mature. Prim limits as mentioned above: 800 should be enough for each exhibitor. I am not sure exactly what you mean with commercial stuff, but since its OSgrid's birthday and OSgrid is not-for-profit, any advertisement for commercial products/services is not really in keeping with the event so please refrain from it. As for script use: Be reasonable. If the server shows that a script or scripts affect the sim performance in a negative way, then you might be asked to remove it or one of the admins might disable it and let you know. With any of this stuff please note: Nebadon has - as always - last word.

2) The plots are arranged along walkways in a garden style region. The mesh region might still change ( )

3) Oddball, rtfm ;)

I am sure you will come up with more questions..... hehe :)

EDIT: My hubby was faster on answering the questions, oh well...

Thanks for the quick answers Grey & Eryn!

Now I have something to work with (oddy deletes 15.000 something prims, a couple of thousand scripts with LLSleep in it, disable the sculpted-naughty-parts-vendors, etc... :-) )

Odd

Plots are all ready to be sold, people. Grab one as soon as you can. Simply IM me inworld and select a spot on either OSG5B East or West for non-mesh or North if you want a mesh exhibit. I'll come around and invite you to the necessary group and set the land for sale to you :)

Confirmed exhibitors s far: Littlefield (Camryn), Sarah Kline, mat mahogany on the non-mesh and Oddball Otoole, Marcus Llewellyn and Nebadon Izumi on the mesh region.
