Is anyone else having asset problems -

Scripts going missing from prims.
Prims disappearing from your sim (even after a persist).
Objects in inventory broken and not able to rez.
I admit I am running an older server code, but that is because it WAS a stable version at that time, and ODE seems to run very well on it.
I choose not to use Bullet Physics at this time, because some of my content breaks when using that physics engine. Yes I know I can enable ODE with the latest code, but ODE just doesn't run the same as when I use an older server version.
I also suspect there is a problem with linking and unlinking prims. I can not prove this, but have had several instances where I have unlinked one prim from a linkset, then restart the sim in the morning, and that linkset is gone from the sim.
It's frustrating to say the least. I have no errors on the server console to guide me as to what could be going wrong.
Also, usually when I do quit my instances, and restart them, I have to check for land permissions for every sim, as it is usually reset - which creates a griefer's playground until all regions settings are restored.

Maybe I need to do oar backups of all my sims, then deregister them. Uninstall MySql, and reinstall and recreate the database, then recreate my sims from the oar backups.

Hello Ares,

I would have to say I also am having problems with Bullet physics on my regions. I refuse to use it at this time since I simply can not use it. When I try to use Bullet physics the server will error on start up then crash. I have been using ODE since I started with OSGrid and will continue to use it.

I also have asset problems, recently my inventory takes a very long time to load or it will not load at all. I am not sure what is happening with that.
I hope these things can be fixed soon *smiles

Try logging into one of the osg sandbox plaza's this should help load your inventory.

What is the problem with our Open Sim Land servers then?

I am getting similar sorts of problems (missing inventory, slow attachment loading, teleports failing with complete attachment removal, etc. etc.). These are not new issues; there has been a mantis regarding failed tps open since last September (6755), and there are a number of others in a similar vein. For some reason, many of these outstanding issues remain unaddressed while development proceeds in other directions (such as breaking tps within a mega :lol: )

Many of the issues that are being mentioned have in fact been fixed or at least some manifestations have been fixed in recent releases.

There have been several recent fixes to tp issues, including:

There has been an issue reported with inventory, and it is getting ongoing attention, but the cause has not been pinpointed:

Remember, the majority of the code is on your simulator. If you don't update, you won't get the fixes. I believe the land problem it sounds like you are describing was fixed several releases ago:

I would also like to point out that Bullet is being very actively developed by Robert Adams, but he can only fix the issues he knows about.
