Hi All,

I am attempting to setup a single region within OSGrid .... with partial success.

According to the world map, my sim exists (Shady Glades) ... but I can't get there. I keep getting this error message when trying to teleport there. "Service request failed: The operation has timed out."

If i try to login at Shady Glades (from the viewer login screen) I end up at Lbsa Plaza ... with the error "Your desired location is not currently available. You have been moved into a nearby region."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Jimbo

Never mind, I got it.

For those having this issue. When setting up your sim, set the port to the standard 9000 (don't try and be clever like me)

Hiya Jimbo.

You can run opensim on any port you please. (as long as it is a port above 1024, all ports below are "reserved").
You only need to make sure you also change these ports in the correct INI files, and open / forward them in your router.

Each simulator uses a TCP port. Default is 9000. It is set as http listener in //bin/opensim.ini
each region on such simulator, uses a UDP port. These are set in //bin/regions/regions.ini

Obviously any firewall needs to allow traffic on these ports as well.
