Keep the training material related in some way to OSGrid and OpenSIM or tools that you would use externally to opensim such as image editors and database tools etc... but ultimately the material presented benefits OpenSIM and OSGrid.

make

wget http://download.mono-project.com/source ... 08.tar.bz2

tar xfv mono-5.8.0.108.tar.bz2

cd mono-5.8.0.108

./configure –prefix=/opt/mono-5.8.0 –libdir=/opt/mono-5.8.0/lib

make

make install

(EXIT QUIT ROOT USER)

mkdir bin

ln -s /opt/mono-5.8.0 mono

I had to build and modify a mono due to a mysterious seg fault problem which developed after I upgraded my Ubuntu to 16.04 and OpenSim to 9.1. Some scripted objects would cause a mono segmentation fault immediately upon being rezzed. I tracked this down to 3 assert not null statements in the mono source, which I removed. The compile procedure in the first link works but I had to install a minimal python which they do not mention.
