Keep the training material related in some way to OSGrid and OpenSIM or tools that you would use externally to opensim such as image editors and database tools etc... but ultimately the material presented benefits OpenSIM and OSGrid.

I have almost completed the long awaited tutorial for monit, I could post it now but there is one important component missing.

Twisted Stickfigure, you have the answer I need, please look in your PM for an extended explanation of what I need, I would really appreciate your assistance, the use of screen is a perfect solution.
As soon as I hear from you I can post the tutorial, I look forward to your reply.
Thanks
Cam

I thought I would go ahead and throw my init.d script out here too.
I whipped this up because I hate waiting for monit to load my sim after a reboot.

This ties into the monit scripts to launch my sim at boot time.

{L_CODE}:
#!/bin/sh
### BEGIN INIT INFO
# Provides: osgrid
# Required-Start:    $local_fs mysql
# Required-Stop:     $local_fs
# Default-Start:     2 3 5
# Default-Stop:      0 1 6
# Description: opensim server
### END INIT INFO

case "$1" in
'start')

    su - opensim -c "/home/opensim/os/scripts/monit/act/osgrid start osgrid"

   ;;
'stop')

    su - opensim -c "/home/opensim/os/scripts/monit/act/osgrid stop osgrid"
   ;;
*)
   echo "Usage: $0 { start | stop }"
   ;;
esac
exit 0

If you are following Cams walk through the file path would be /home/opensim/opensim start your_sim

If you have multiple simulators on the server, you can just make and rename a file for each.

Twisted,
This is interesting, I will give it a try, but I dont find much time lost between the booting of linux and the booting of opensim, what waiting are you referring to?
Although anything that reduces downtime is good :)

When playing with init, just be sure it starts after mysql server, please...

Yes, that's why I had to add "mysql" to the required-start section. If I didn't opensim would launch too early and crash.
