Thank you Bo, you nailed it.

{L_QUOTE}:
It is the last line. If is it commented out (like in my case) it is being set to the default value 9000.

In my .ini file, it still was commented. I had forgotten to uncommented it.

So now, my OsGrid region and my non HG Standalone are launching.

But with the latest version; osgrid-opensim-03022013.v0.7.6.e70c71a
I can't get to my Standalone.

I'm giving up for now. I'm leaving my OsGrid region with the latest version, but will use the older version for my Standalone. At least, now I can get to it.

Thank you everyone for your help ...

Selea

It could be that your standalone is blocking your sim and vice versa.

Please, understand
1) you are not forced to use the default port 9000, you can change it
2) only one running program = either standalone or sim can use that port.
3) just set both (for sure) http_listener_port port numbers to different values, activate it(remove ; at the start of the line), forward it properly on firewall and both will start.
4) if you keep both set to 9000 (default value) you can always run just the first program which was started

Updated the first sim today, it was a two-version jump. I used the ini files from the web site, and re-added my customizations. The sim came up, but one out of 9 regions in the sim seemed to reset to default. I got a prompt to join an existing estate, and when it came up, the regions was empty. I had to restore from a backup.

Anyone else seen that?

Eve, what DB are you using?
I suppose you didn't change the RegionUUID of that affected region accidentally, right?

Bo

PS: don't worry that region data are very likely still in the DB.

I had 6 of the 28 regions asking to join an existing estate on first startup of v0.8.0.7112ee0, and after adding them, it was smooth sailing.
