Here are some great apps being developed for making trees that work great in OpenSimulator

http://www.snappytree.com : For making the tree geometry and has some sample textures
Source Code here : https://github.com/supereggbert/SnappyTree

http://arnaud.ile.nc/cantree/ : For generating leaf textures for the trees

as far as bark goes any repeating tile bark texture will work fine with these as well.

Awesome Neb, thanks for the resources :)

I am having issues though with trying to upload the mesh. The mesh upload dialogue is telling me that the 'High' LOD is missing (red cross by the high detail, the other three are fine though) and also a message at the bottom saying 'Error. Dae parsing issue - see log for details.'

Any idea how I can sort this?

Thanks!

what viewer are you using? I have been uploading all of my trees with medium, high is probably way overkill and will just make the models larger than they need to be.

I get the same error as Adelle, the tree.dae file that is exported is only 7-8 kb in size so something is messing up the export. I have trees made the same way a few months ago and they are typically anywhere from 300 kb to 800 kb in file size.

Definitely seems like a website/browser issue. I tried three different browsers and get the following:

Chrome - Downloads, but file size is 8k (Too small?)
Firefox - Hit download button and page refreshes, but does not download anything
IE - Doesn't even load the page!

I really have no idea about this as it looks like the site, and/or the browser.

Its such a shame, as I love the four snappy trees Nebadon did that are at Wright Plaza.
