Hi,

Teapot is my personal "guineapig" viewer, which I use to test new patches. Since I have the binaries anyway I decided to publish them along with the source code so that anyone interested can try - and developers of other viewer projects can pick features they like. Currently its based on SL viewer 3.3.0 with almost all patches I developed for the never released Kokua in 2011.

Features so far are (unsorted incomplete list):
* a more practical camera floater (also ported to Firestorm)
* a more practical media on prim setup floater
* colored avatar clouds
* pie menus (ported from Firestorm)
* login support for opensimulator grids (also ported to Firestorm)
* hop:// protocol handling (also ported to Firestorm)
* relog- teleport to other grids if hypergrid isn't available
* easy picking of new grids in the login screen
* experimental webgl support of the built in browser

You can find the latest binaries for Linux (32 and 64 bit) and Windows (no Mac, sadly) here: https://bitbucket.org/ArminW/teapot/downloads
Release notes can be found here: https://bitbucket.org/ArminW/teapot/wik ... t/Overview
A general "about" text is here: https://bitbucket.org/ArminW/teapot/wiki/Home
and the source code can be found here: https://bitbucket.org/ArminW/teapot

enjoy :)
Armin

Woohoo- finally a Linux 64 viewer where everything works. I can at last watch in world movies again (including the movie on the drive in at mine which I haven't seen in months) :)

TY.

EDIT: Although the YouTube link I was using didn't respond to clicking play. However, the movie is out of copyright, so no problem to DL to mp4 and host it myself :)

Hey Armin, great to see you onboard again my friend.

Regards Teapot, I am pleased to say, the latest 0.1.7 version is going very well so far in the couple of days I have been testing it.
Framerates are very good now, close to 30fps even on my slow connection, mesh render is crisp and clean, voice works well in regions with a voice server. All it is missing now is a good built in AO.

All in all, Teapot is really coming along well, great Job Armin, and thanks for getting behind OpenSim for us.

Talking about voice ... Teapot comes with a whisper/mumble voice module, getting some feedback about it would be good, since it isn't much tested yet. Which is a pitty - mumble servers are open source and not difficult to set up, so its a great solution for anyone who wants to or has to be in control of the service, for intranets, ad-hoc voice (e.g LAN party), or "at home". And its quality is excellent. From that I'm very interested in improving the whisper/mumble module if/where needed.

With the mumble module, can you move between vivox and mumble enabled sims without a voice reset?

Yes, Teapot auto-switches the modules, actually that works better than reset, which in the current version fails for mumble (just fixed it in the source, I'll update the binary about sunday).

Technically it shuts down the current module and loads the other one if the presence of "mumble_server_info" capability changes, which is checked crossing regions/teleporting.

Couple of issues:

Upload - image immediately crashes the viewer (Linux x64 - version 1.7 and 1.8)

EDIT: In fact, upload - anything immediately crashes the viewer.

Vivox fails to connect to the server using default settings. I changed VivoxVoiceHost (debug settings) from 127.0.0.1 (localhost) to http://www.osp.vivox.com which seems to fix it, though I'm not sure if this is right?
