[2018/10/20 11:02] Romulun Rockett: I've only just gotten back from an RL meeting, so life can be bussy :)
[2018/10/20 11:02] albertlr Landar: well we will wait a frew to see if others have any problems.
[2018/10/20 11:02] cilla teebrook: Hey George
[2018/10/20 11:02] George Equus: :)
[2018/10/20 11:03] albertlr Landar: Hi Foxx
[2018/10/20 11:03] Koni Lanzius: hi Foxx
[2018/10/20 11:03] cilla teebrook: i just saw something fall out of the sky
[2018/10/20 11:03] Foxx Bode: -*- HeLlO-*-
[2018/10/20 11:03] albertlr Landar: hopefully hurliman will cooperate with us this week.
[2018/10/20 11:03] Romulun Rockett: I have the notice NOW :)
[2018/10/20 11:03] albertlr Landar: Last week we went over so much, that I could not post the whole chat from the meeting in the forums.
[2018/10/20 11:03] cilla teebrook: it rezzes very fast for me today
[2018/10/20 11:03] Foxx Bode: should be ok, dan checked it less than an hour ago
[2018/10/20 11:03] Koni Lanzius: wow
[2018/10/20 11:03] albertlr Landar: So had to cut out greetings and good byes
[2018/10/20 11:04] albertlr Landar: And just left the meat so to speak of the meeting.
[2018/10/20 11:04] DJ Higher is Online
[2018/10/20 11:04] Koni Lanzius: thats a good idea
[2018/10/20 11:04] Koni Lanzius: cliff notes haha
[2018/10/20 11:04] albertlr Landar: seems we have a limit of 60,000 characters per posting.
[2018/10/20 11:04] Koni Lanzius: oh wow
[2018/10/20 11:04] albertlr Landar: we had like 74,800
[2018/10/20 11:04] Foxx Bode: yes, we dont need bibles of spam....
[2018/10/20 11:04] Foxx Bode: :P
[2018/10/20 11:04] Koni Lanzius: a chatty bunch
[2018/10/20 11:05] cilla teebrook: howdy Foxxx
[2018/10/20 11:05] albertlr Landar: well I guess we can begin with covering some things.
[2018/10/20 11:05] albertlr Landar: I see DJ Higher and LaNani have arrived, greetings.
[2018/10/20 11:05] DJ Higher: hello everyone
[2018/10/20 11:05] Foxx Bode: -*- HeLlO-*-
[2018/10/20 11:06] Koni Lanzius: hi Lanai, Jimmy, DJ
[2018/10/20 11:06] Romulun Rockett: It's a shame that it had to be edited at all but if it had to be shorterned then obvously the "pleasantries" are the place to start.
[2018/10/20 11:06] George Equus: Hi
[2018/10/20 11:06] jimmy dayton: hiya folks
[2018/10/20 11:06] cilla teebrook: howdy you 2
[2018/10/20 11:06] cilla teebrook: shortening my sentences
[2018/10/20 11:06] LaNani Sundara: hello all
[2018/10/20 11:06] albertlr Landar: Well Dan won't be here this week, had to take his new kitten to the Dr.
[2018/10/20 11:06] cilla teebrook: hi
[2018/10/20 11:06] albertlr Landar: in RL
[2018/10/20 11:07] Romulun Rockett: Hello Foxx & DJ :)
[2018/10/20 11:07] Foxx Bode: -*- HeLlO-*-
[2018/10/20 11:07] DJ Higher: aww
[2018/10/20 11:07] TIGGS Beaumont: *waves to all
[2018/10/20 11:07] TIGGS Beaumont: Thank you cilla :-)
[2018/10/20 11:07] albertlr Landar: Hi Tiggs
[2018/10/20 11:07] Koni Lanzius: hey Tiggy
[2018/10/20 11:07] cilla teebrook: surenuff
[2018/10/20 11:07] TIGGS Beaumont: Foxx hey hey
[2018/10/20 11:07] albertlr Landar: Well to begin this week just wanted to clarify one thing about the groups.
[2018/10/20 11:07] TIGGS Beaumont: Koni HUGz
[2018/10/20 11:07] TIGGS Beaumont: :-)
[2018/10/20 11:08] DJ Higher: david bowie is here
[2018/10/20 11:08] DJ Higher: is he going to sing?
[2018/10/20 11:08] DJ Higher: lol
[2018/10/20 11:08] albertlr Landar: As I was reading the chat don't think it was made real clear.
[2018/10/20 11:08] Koni Lanzius: hi dave
[2018/10/20 11:08] David B0wie: Nah :)
[2018/10/20 11:08] DJ Higher: aww
[2018/10/20 11:08] DJ Higher: :(
[2018/10/20 11:08] DJ Higher: lol
[2018/10/20 11:08] albertlr Landar: But we don't use Verion 2 of the groups because it can not handle the larger groups we have here.
[2018/10/20 11:08] albertlr Landar: The verion 2 is for smaller grids and thus smaller groups, that was how Diva set it up.
[2018/10/20 11:08] Koni Lanzius: ahh
[2018/10/20 11:09] albertlr Landar: However I notice that in the developer meeting this week, that Andrew Hellershanks said that we was going to look at at extending our groups here to handle outside HG notices.
[2018/10/20 11:09] Koni Lanzius: oh nice
[2018/10/20 11:10] albertlr Landar: So that would be an addition and extention of what our groups here do.
[2018/10/20 11:10] TIGGS Beaumont: oh :-)
[2018/10/20 11:10] albertlr Landar: Something to look forward too.
[2018/10/20 11:11] LaNani Sundara: :) hi Snoots in disguise
[2018/10/20 11:11] Koni Lanzius: heheh
[2018/10/20 11:11] Snoots Dwagon: Hi Hi HI!
[2018/10/20 11:11] Snoots Dwagon:
[2018/10/20 11:11] TIGGS Beaumont: Lanani *smiles
[2018/10/20 11:11] albertlr Landar: Now another subject has come up.
[2018/10/20 11:11] TIGGS Beaumont: Snootful hi
[2018/10/20 11:11] albertlr Landar: I know a lot of you use Firestorm
[2018/10/20 11:12] LaNani Sundara: hi Tiggs :)
[2018/10/20 11:12] albertlr Landar: Over Singularity, but Singularity has been especially helpful with builders and those that want a more stripped down viewer on opensim.
[2018/10/20 11:12] TIGGS Beaumont: more stripped down as in graphics?
[2018/10/20 11:12] paela argus is Online
[2018/10/20 11:12] albertlr Landar: And it has not been shown a lot of developement recently.
[2018/10/20 11:13] Snoots Dwagon: Yes but I have found Singularity far slower in loading textures than Firestorm... unless I have soemthing set wrong
[2018/10/20 11:13] Cataplexia Numbers is Online
[2018/10/20 11:13] albertlr Landar: It should show just as much as Firestorm, it just lacks alot of the add on things.
[2018/10/20 11:13] DJ Higher: true snoots
[2018/10/20 11:13] DJ Higher: think so too
[2018/10/20 11:13] albertlr Landar: But not trying to compare the two.
[2018/10/20 11:14] albertlr Landar: But this week Siana Gearz posted a Patreon page to help with continuning to work on Singulariry
[2018/10/20 11:14] LaNani Sundara: slower, lighting looks less real, everything looks less... but if there is a new improved version i'll happily look at Singularity again
[2018/10/20 11:14] cilla teebrook: is there another one called 'Cool' something
[2018/10/20 11:14] Snoots Dwagon: Same here LaNani
[2018/10/20 11:14] albertlr Landar:
[2018/10/20 11:14] Koni Lanzius: theres one called ALchemy
[2018/10/20 11:14] Koni Lanzius: haven't used it much tho
[2018/10/20 11:14] albertlr Landar: Just brining this to everyones attention, that might want to help support Singulairty improvements.
[2018/10/20 11:14] LaNani Sundara: thought Cool viewer was Diva's but no longer being developed
[2018/10/20 11:15] Romulun Rockett: My Singularity is very slow lowding textures. I wish you could increes the texture cash above the 2gb limit so it would remember more of the textures you've already seen rather then having to reload them again & again.
[2018/10/20 11:15] albertlr Landar: And it was based off of Singularity.
[2018/10/20 11:15] David B0wie: some can only run sing on their machines and if memory serves correct, sing allows more linked objects
[2018/10/20 11:15] albertlr Landar: I have pledged to give them $5 a month to help with it.
[2018/10/20 11:15] Koni Lanzius: ahh good idea
[2018/10/20 11:15] albertlr Landar: So if any of you feel so inclined please help if you can.
[2018/10/20 11:16] cilla teebrook: i have a monthly with ya
[2018/10/20 11:16] albertlr Landar: But you can set it up through paypal
[2018/10/20 11:16] cilla teebrook: mhm
[2018/10/20 11:17] albertlr Landar: None of our developers of Opensimulator nor the Viewers get paid for what they do, so anything can help.
[2018/10/20 11:17] albertlr Landar: I know a lot of people were having problems with Firestorm and mesh at the moment, so its good to have an alternative when available.
[2018/10/20 11:18] cilla teebrook: out of love I assume
[2018/10/20 11:18] Snoots Dwagon: I have question: I understand why OSgrid needs donations. But if none of devs at Opensim get paid, what are donations there for?
[2018/10/20 11:18] DJ Higher: i don't know why they have problems with firestorm because i don't have any smiles
[2018/10/20 11:18] albertlr Landar: To pay for hardware and monthly use of servers
[2018/10/20 11:18] albertlr Landar: The computers that run your software on, cost money.
[2018/10/20 11:18] Snoots Dwagon: I have all kinda problems with Firestorm, both on Opensim and on Second Life. There are many bottlenecks
[2018/10/20 11:18] Foxx Bode: wb
[2018/10/20 11:18] David B0wie: older hardware works better with Sing
[2018/10/20 11:18] LaNani Sundara: i have kept Firestorm 5.07.53912 and have no problems
[2018/10/20 11:19] TIGGS Beaumont: ty
[2018/10/20 11:19] albertlr Landar: No admin gets any compensation for the services they provide its all voluntary.
[2018/10/20 11:19] DJ Higher: yes true nani
[2018/10/20 11:19] DJ Higher: me either
[2018/10/20 11:19] TIGGS Beaumont: I know my problems now are not with the viewer, but the connection
[2018/10/20 11:19] Snoots Dwagon: I bet I could find problems wif it. <--- bug magnet. if there's a bug, I will magically find it. ;D
[2018/10/20 11:19] albertlr Landar: However some of the developers have taken on projects for funds in the past.
[2018/10/20 11:20] DJ Higher: think so too tiggs
[2018/10/20 11:20] albertlr Landar: For instance Justin developed the NPC's because someone paid him to do that, but he did it with the provision that it could be shared with everyone else on opensim.
[2018/10/20 11:20] Koni Lanzius: brilliant
[2018/10/20 11:20] TIGGS Beaumont: nice
[2018/10/20 11:21] albertlr Landar: And that has helped everyone on opensim with that. But still most are not paid, and neither is Ubit who is currently the chief developer.
[2018/10/20 11:21] Koni Lanzius: wish they could work out the property rights thing so more folks would put stuff in Kitely Market
[2018/10/20 11:21] albertlr Landar: Now in one week the Halloween Party starts on OSgrid on Event Plaxza.
[2018/10/20 11:22] Snoots Dwagon: That's totally on Kitely's end? Or not?
[2018/10/20 11:22] TIGGS Beaumont: Koni, but, export would be a main issue no?
[2018/10/20 11:22] albertlr Landar: On Friday the 23rd.
[2018/10/20 11:22] LaNani Sundara: yay party :0
[2018/10/20 11:22] Koni Lanzius: yes, you all are very generous and noble to donate your time and I think we all truly truly appreciated it
[2018/10/20 11:22] albertlr Landar: And then on the 31st another party dance for Halloween Night.
[2018/10/20 11:22] Snoots Dwagon: As far as I understand, Kitely market is 100% Kitely controlled
[2018/10/20 11:22] Koni Lanzius: is it?
[2018/10/20 11:22] Snoots Dwagon: Same people that own the grid, own the market
[2018/10/20 11:22] Koni Lanzius: i dont know how all that works
[2018/10/20 11:23] Koni Lanzius: so everything goes thu them
[2018/10/20 11:23] Snoots Dwagon: Yups
[2018/10/20 11:23] albertlr Landar: Well yea, Kitely owns the market. But they go by what the creators wish as far as their products that are sold.
[2018/10/20 11:23] TIGGS Beaumont: Is there a way to have an NC created that would explain briefly the benefits of each viewer so new avies could have a choice?
[2018/10/20 11:23] Romulun Rockett: NO, we have enought of that copyright crap in SL. The property rights are just fine as they are because we have no mony in here so people can't resell at a profit in here. The absence of any curency takes the whole proerty rights thing out of it as long as you stop people from exporting of course.
[2018/10/20 11:23] Snoots Dwagon: Yeah, creators have full call on permissions
[2018/10/20 11:24] Snoots Dwagon: Romulun she was speaking about Kitely, not OSgrid
[2018/10/20 11:24] Koni Lanzius: agreed Rom, I dont want a monetary system here either
[2018/10/20 11:24] albertlr Landar: And items can be sent here to OSgrid, or your individual grid if the creators allows that.
[2018/10/20 11:24] paela argus: Romulun Rockett objet need right permitive grid is opensource and free but some content in nop
[2018/10/20 11:24] Koni Lanzius: just would be nice to see more SL content creators selling in the Kitely market is all I said
[2018/10/20 11:25] TIGGS Beaumont: Paela HUGz hello
[2018/10/20 11:25] albertlr Landar: And just be aware that individuals regions here on OSGrid can have a monetary system if they choose, but OSGrid does not support that.
[2018/10/20 11:25] Koni Lanzius: i buy stuff from Kitely all the time
[2018/10/20 11:25] Koni Lanzius: and use it here
[2018/10/20 11:25] Snoots Dwagon needs to check out Kitely Market cos I don't have NEAR enough free inventory. ;D
[2018/10/20 11:25] Koni Lanzius: hi Jack
[2018/10/20 11:25] Jack olantern: hi
[2018/10/20 11:26] Koni Lanzius: ~** HAHAHA! **~
[2018/10/20 11:26] Snoots Dwagon: Hijack?!!!
[2018/10/20 11:26] Jack olantern: hey :)
[2018/10/20 11:26] Koni Lanzius: heheheh
[2018/10/20 11:26] TIGGS Beaumont: I do too Koni, but people need (like me) to be aware of the export tick
[2018/10/20 11:26] Koni Lanzius: ah yea
[2018/10/20 11:26] Jack olantern: somebody is exporting ticks?
[2018/10/20 11:26] Koni Lanzius: you can select that as a filter
[2018/10/20 11:26] TIGGS Beaumont: Is there a way to have an NC created that would explain briefly the benefits of each viewer so new avies could have a choice?
[2018/10/20 11:26] Snoots Dwagon: mwahahahahahaha...
[2018/10/20 11:26] TIGGS Beaumont: Jack *points to Snootful
[2018/10/20 11:26] Koni Lanzius: hehehe
[2018/10/20 11:27] albertlr Landar: well I would say to always start with Singulairty, as its simpiler, then move to Firestorm once its learned more.
[2018/10/20 11:27] TIGGS Beaumont: I mean, Y'all do not have enough to do anyway
[2018/10/20 11:27] TIGGS Beaumont: heh
[2018/10/20 11:27] Koni Lanzius: hheheh
[2018/10/20 11:28] David B0wie: I nominate Tiggs :)
[2018/10/20 11:28] TIGGS Beaumont: so, I go back to singularity hehe
[2018/10/20 11:28] LaNani Sundara: hmm i think that is subjective albert
[2018/10/20 11:28] paela argus: 92 % of users use firestorm and 8 % other viewers
[2018/10/20 11:28] TIGGS Beaumont: huh? for?
[2018/10/20 11:28] TIGGS Beaumont: hehe
[2018/10/20 11:28] albertlr Landar: of course its how people use it.
[2018/10/20 11:28] Snoots Dwagon: I would give thumbs up to Singularity IF it loaded textures faster. If there is setting to do that, great. But when I checked last time, it loaded textures about 10 times slower than Firestorm.
[2018/10/20 11:28] David B0wie: to write up a notecard explaining benefits of each :)
[2018/10/20 11:28] TIGGS Beaumont: Paela, I know I started with FS yes
[2018/10/20 11:28] Snoots Dwagon: Benefits and downsides. :D If anyone actually has all that info.
[2018/10/20 11:29] LaNani Sundara: having new people use Sigularity will make them think things load slow and look less great than they could
[2018/10/20 11:29] Snoots Dwagon: I agree LaNani
[2018/10/20 11:29] TIGGS Beaumont: David, um hi, They call me TIGGS, nuff said *grins
[2018/10/20 11:29] cilla teebrook: howdy Cat!!
[2018/10/20 11:29] Snoots Dwagon: Unless Singularity can speed up, isn't a good representative viewer for new users.
[2018/10/20 11:29] David B0wie: Hi Cat
[2018/10/20 11:29] albertlr Landar: well found that is you change RenderDynamicLOD under advances to False, it loads faster in Singularity.
[2018/10/20 11:29] LaNani Sundara: i agree
[2018/10/20 11:29] Cataplexia Numbers: hello everybody
[2018/10/20 11:29] Koni Lanzius: Hi Cata
[2018/10/20 11:29] Snoots Dwagon: First time it takes Singularity 20 minutes to load a region, new suses will be gone. :D
[2018/10/20 11:29] Romulun Rockett: hello Cat :)
[2018/10/20 11:29] TIGGS Beaumont: Cata HUGzs lady
[2018/10/20 11:29] LaNani Sundara: i agree with Snoots
[2018/10/20 11:29] paela argus: osgrid can not make any preference viewers osgrid not wanna any war with devs viewers lolol
[2018/10/20 11:29] Snoots Dwagon: Making note of that Albertlr ty. I'll try it
[2018/10/20 11:29] cilla teebrook: when my graphic card was going bad I had to stop using FS..
[2018/10/20 11:30] Cataplexia Numbers: hugs back
[2018/10/20 11:30] LaNani Sundara: *hugs Cat
[2018/10/20 11:30] Snoots Dwagon wrote that down
[2018/10/20 11:30] Cataplexia Numbers: :D Backatya
[2018/10/20 11:30] Snoots Dwagon: I also need to check to see if Singularity defaults to http textures
[2018/10/20 11:30] albertlr Landar: Hello Cataplexia greetings
[2018/10/20 11:31] Cataplexia Numbers: Hi albertir :D
[2018/10/20 11:31] paela argus: if i remember default is udp snoots
[2018/10/20 11:31] LaNani Sundara: seems Singularity needs more tweaking out of the box
[2018/10/20 11:31] David B0wie: yes UDP i think
[2018/10/20 11:31] Snoots Dwagon: That might explain the slow textures paela. Ty
[2018/10/20 11:31] Romulun Rockett: I must admit that I don't understand why when I have a fast broad band connection and I'm running singularity on an SSD, with an I7 and plenty of ram, why it still takes ages to load textures.
[2018/10/20 11:31] Snoots Dwagon: Changing that to http might make all difference in the world
[2018/10/20 11:31] albertlr Landar: you have to set textures and inventory to http in Singularity. On the Network page.
[2018/10/20 11:32] LaNani Sundara: suggesting singularity to new users would make the grid look .. well, bad
[2018/10/20 11:32] Snoots Dwagon: Got it. Making not of that
[2018/10/20 11:32] Snoots Dwagon questions why Singularity doesn't set these to proper defaults
[2018/10/20 11:32] cilla teebrook: just a list in alpha order
[2018/10/20 11:32] paela argus: i agree lanani but can not remove it or make preference viewer in website
[2018/10/20 11:32] Koni Lanzius: brb
[2018/10/20 11:32] David B0wie: hasnt been updated in a while
[2018/10/20 11:32] albertlr Landar: Because it was that way with SL original. And not a lot of developement with it recently.
[2018/10/20 11:33] albertlr Landar: So even though it has been a change in SL and opensim, its not that way yet.
[2018/10/20 11:33] LaNani Sundara: so... better use FS?
[2018/10/20 11:33] TIGGS Beaumont: but does an NC have to suggest any preference?
[2018/10/20 11:33] Snoots Dwagon: My dwagony thoughts: we should start an OPENSIM VIEWER project and call for huge kickstarter donations to fund professional development
[2018/10/20 11:33] Snoots Dwagon: A viewer specifically for Opensim
[2018/10/20 11:33] TIGGS Beaumont: I mean I still am not familiar with the viewers and becoming not so much a newb now
[2018/10/20 11:33] Snoots Dwagon: Especially since Firestorm has basically disowned us
[2018/10/20 11:33] David B0wie: if it isnt updated soon, it will no longer work in s/l as of the new year i think i have heard
[2018/10/20 11:34] albertlr Landar: Several people have tried that and have not continued with it unfortunately.
[2018/10/20 11:34] TIGGS Beaumont: I auction Snoots off first
[2018/10/20 11:34] Snoots Dwagon: aw
[2018/10/20 11:34] Snoots Dwagon: mwahahahahahaha...
[2018/10/20 11:34] albertlr Landar: The viewers are the biggest holdback on opensim really going forward.
[2018/10/20 11:34] paela argus: hum you can wait more 10 years snoots is the problem is a little late for a special viewer opensim
[2018/10/20 11:34] Snoots Dwagon: I totally sooooo agreee Al
[2018/10/20 11:34] Romulun Rockett: just alowing us to spesify a much bigger cash should help.
[2018/10/20 11:34] Snoots Dwagon: One of the biggest problems with bug reports: is it Opensim or is it the Viewer?
[2018/10/20 11:35] Jack olantern: what's the solution then :)
[2018/10/20 11:35] albertlr Landar: There was a recent article by Adam Frisby on the many mistakes he says that developers had made over the years.
[2018/10/20 11:35] TIGGS Beaumont: find mentors to assist newbs?
[2018/10/20 11:35] albertlr Landar: Which slowed the developement.
[2018/10/20 11:35] Snoots Dwagon: The "professional sensible" solution is for the community as a whole to fund the development of a quality Opensim specific viewer
[2018/10/20 11:35] Snoots Dwagon: But that's quite an undertaking
[2018/10/20 11:36] Jack olantern: can;t get the boneheads to stick with one viewer now as it is :)
[2018/10/20 11:36] paela argus: remember opensim is a opensource of secondlife
[2018/10/20 11:36] paela argus: ^^
[2018/10/20 11:36] Snoots Dwagon: However I am thinking if we started a Kickstarter campaign we mgiht be able to raise $50k to $100k to fund viewer development
[2018/10/20 11:36] LaNani Sundara: don't have to start from scratch, some viewers' code its open source
[2018/10/20 11:36] Snoots Dwagon: Agreed LaNani
[2018/10/20 11:36] albertlr Landar: And only at a later time were the developers of the viewers allowed to talk with the developers of opensimulator.
[2018/10/20 11:36] Snoots Dwagon: Start with the open source and FIX the bottlenecks
[2018/10/20 11:37] David B0wie: what in the s/l viewers needs to be changed for Opensim?
[2018/10/20 11:37] LaNani Sundara: like i am doing with Opensim now ;)
[2018/10/20 11:37] Jack olantern: if they can;t work together on a viewer all these years why you think paying them will be any different :)
[2018/10/20 11:37] David B0wie: other than addressing for hypergrid?
[2018/10/20 11:37] paela argus: hypergrid isnt a real code is just a hack
[2018/10/20 11:37] David B0wie: 10 year old hack
[2018/10/20 11:37] Romulun Rockett: why do we went to reinvent the weeel? maybe we can just help out with either of the existing viewer developement teems?
[2018/10/20 11:38] Snoots Dwagon: Well you'll have to excuse me please. I been a businessman all my life. My solutions are usually real-life oriented and not "everything is free" utopia. No offense.
[2018/10/20 11:38] paela argus: same of var region etc :)
[2018/10/20 11:38] David B0wie: been around as long as grid mode
[2018/10/20 11:38] albertlr Landar:
[2018/10/20 11:38] LaNani Sundara: calling it a hack does not make it not code
[2018/10/20 11:38] albertlr Landar: For those that came in later Siana Gear is asking for support to help with cotinuning work on Singularity.
[2018/10/20 11:38] Jack olantern: if you can not work together at the basic level when there is no monitary rewards, then you have not proven to me you can when there are :)
[2018/10/20 11:39] Koni Lanzius: bk
[2018/10/20 11:39] Jack olantern: no offense either :)
[2018/10/20 11:39] LaNani Sundara: wb :)
[2018/10/20 11:39] Snoots Dwagon: The problem I have with the singularity funding is this part: "You can also pledge here if you choose to support me in new endeavours, which are likely to be 3D printing related, probably firmware development."
[2018/10/20 11:39] Snoots Dwagon: Seems like Siana's interests are divided.
[2018/10/20 11:39] LaNani Sundara: is there only one person working on Singularity?
[2018/10/20 11:40] David B0wie: 3-4
[2018/10/20 11:40] Snoots Dwagon: Just one
[2018/10/20 11:40] Snoots Dwagon: That I know of
[2018/10/20 11:40] Snoots Dwagon: I may be wrong
[2018/10/20 11:40] Mirror Amorasi is Offline
[2018/10/20 11:40] David B0wie: 3-4
[2018/10/20 11:40] Snoots Dwagon: kk
[2018/10/20 11:40] LaNani Sundara: hmm
[2018/10/20 11:40] paela argus: is dev and a entire community of peoples
[2018/10/20 11:40] paela argus: ♥‿❤
[2018/10/20 11:40] paela argus: i3*
[2018/10/20 11:40] LaNani Sundara: at least FS has a team
[2018/10/20 11:40] paela argus: i do not know why she claim more dev for that viewer
[2018/10/20 11:40] Snoots Dwagon: If it is 3-4 people working on Singularity, why has not more been done on it?
[2018/10/20 11:41] albertlr Landar: Well one place to get a lot of people together to discuss improvements to opensimulaor and the viewers will be the upcoming Opensimulator Community Cofference Dec. 8-9, 2018
[2018/10/20 11:41] albertlr Landar:
[2018/10/20 11:41] Cataplexia Numbers: because you aren't one of them Snoots
[2018/10/20 11:41] Snoots Dwagon: I have a bit of a problem with just throwing money at people with no established business plan and syllabus.
[2018/10/20 11:41] paela argus: singularity is locked by very old code of LL snoots
[2018/10/20 11:41] albertlr Landar: And these is only a few persons working on Singularity right now.
[2018/10/20 11:41] David B0wie: "we actually have a team, Shyotl and Liru are there to help, they still are."
[2018/10/20 11:41] David B0wie:
[2018/10/20 11:42] LaNani Sundara: we have seen how having basicly only one developer work on Opensim works out...
[2018/10/20 11:42] albertlr Landar: well news to me, glad to know that.
[2018/10/20 11:43] LaNani Sundara: sorry :) *shuts up
[2018/10/20 11:43] David B0wie: think she is looking for help covering server costs mostly
[2018/10/20 11:43] albertlr Landar: And it would be great to have more people working on opensimulator also.
[2018/10/20 11:43] albertlr Landar: Well I have already pledged my $5 a month to help
[2018/10/20 11:44] paela argus: well more peoples can work on opensim code but maybe if devs start allow take patch ... is a good start
[2018/10/20 11:44] paela argus: :-P~~
[2018/10/20 11:44] Jack olantern: wbat about the viewers :)
[2018/10/20 11:44] Snoots Dwagon: Here is thing: we have lots of stuff to donate to. Sianz says she is "severely bankrupt". I'm sorry to hear that, very much. But if that's the case she needs to get away from virtual worlds (which are definitely not profitable) and work on her financial structure. How can she develop a viewer when she can't control her own finances? I dunno her background or why's, but seems a lack of priorities.
[2018/10/20 11:45] DJ Higher is Offline
[2018/10/20 11:45] paela argus: is personnal that
[2018/10/20 11:45] Snoots Dwagon: If I was "severely bankrupt", I'd get off the virtual worlds and back to RL making some money
[2018/10/20 11:45] paela argus: concern no one
[2018/10/20 11:45] David B0wie: there is no money in viewers like there is in creators selling in s/l and Kitely but they are needed a lot more then the latest pair of mesh pants
[2018/10/20 11:46] DJ Higher is Online
[2018/10/20 11:46] Snoots Dwagon: I agree David. Right now a good, quality viewer is of prime importance to Opensim and OSgrid
[2018/10/20 11:46] David B0wie: creators making money should do much more that give them the ability to market their products
[2018/10/20 11:46] Jack olantern: make mesh pants is a skill diffeent then making a viewer :)
[2018/10/20 11:46] Snoots Dwagon: If I tried to make a viewer I could mesh my pants....
[2018/10/20 11:46] David B0wie: both a skill
[2018/10/20 11:47] Koni Lanzius: ~** HAHAHA! **~
[2018/10/20 11:47] cilla teebrook: laughs again
[2018/10/20 11:47] LaNani Sundara: keeping Firestorm going and keeping them also make a viewer that works for Opensim seems the best bet at the moment,
[2018/10/20 11:47] Jack olantern: both are different skills :)
[2018/10/20 11:47] Romulun Rockett: I agree, I love my life in OsGrid but RL comes first I'm afraid, because I have to walk away from the PC and live in RL sometimes, weather I like it or not.
[2018/10/20 11:47] Jack olantern: 3d content creations is slightly different then coding :)
[2018/10/20 11:47] David B0wie: viewer development does better when there is competition
[2018/10/20 11:47] Snoots Dwagon: I would gladly support Firestorm-- if they hadn't publicly declared they were dropping Opensim
[2018/10/20 11:47] albertlr Landar: I believe that Firestrom recently had a succussful fundraiser themselves.
[2018/10/20 11:47] David B0wie: same as Opensim code
[2018/10/20 11:47] Romulun Rockett: And I have a family to look after in RL too.
[2018/10/20 11:47] cilla teebrook: thank you for not taking this so serious with anger... that was a good smile maker.
[2018/10/20 11:47] LaNani Sundara: yes Albert
[2018/10/20 11:48] Snoots Dwagon: I personally have difficulty supporting a viewer (Firestorm) that says, "You people can take a hike"
[2018/10/20 11:48] albertlr Landar: I use both, and am not saying to use one over the other, just that they both need support.
[2018/10/20 11:48] paela argus: firestorm have answer me because opensim do not make any docs for devs viewer understand what is needed
[2018/10/20 11:48] albertlr Landar: And competiont helps both to improve.
[2018/10/20 11:48] paela argus: and is the first think of all serious projet make docs
[2018/10/20 11:49] Romulun Rockett: this is a great hobby and a space were I can chill and play and I love t hat but, you have to have a sense of priorities here.
[2018/10/20 11:49] Snoots Dwagon: Agreed Rom. RL comes first
[2018/10/20 11:49] TIGGS Beaumont: *grins at Snoots
[2018/10/20 11:49] TIGGS Beaumont: yer confuzzlin me
[2018/10/20 11:50] LaNani Sundara: RL? is that like SL?
[2018/10/20 11:50] LaNani Sundara: :)
[2018/10/20 11:50] Romulun Rockett: LOL :)
[2018/10/20 11:50] Jack olantern: yes but not as expensive nani
[2018/10/20 11:50] LaNani Sundara: ah ok
[2018/10/20 11:50] Snoots Dwagon: mwahahahahahaha...
[2018/10/20 11:50] Snoots Dwagon: Dat a good one Jack
[2018/10/20 11:50] George Equus: and less lag
[2018/10/20 11:50] Jack olantern: ty :)
[2018/10/20 11:50] Snoots Dwagon: In RL you can buy a care for less money than SL land.
[2018/10/20 11:50] Snoots Dwagon: *car
[2018/10/20 11:50] LaNani Sundara: ah ok
[2018/10/20 11:50] Snoots Dwagon: And the car will run right. :D
[2018/10/20 11:51] LaNani Sundara: no left?
[2018/10/20 11:51] TIGGS Beaumont: <----can do left
[2018/10/20 11:51] Snoots Dwagon: ugh... bad puns.
[2018/10/20 11:51] TIGGS Beaumont: okay
[2018/10/20 11:51] LaNani Sundara: ^^
[2018/10/20 11:51] Snoots Dwagon: :D
[2018/10/20 11:51] cilla teebrook: hehe
[2018/10/20 11:52] Snoots Dwagon: Okay, I has question after all this if I may.
[2018/10/20 11:52] Romulun Rockett: yes SL is a masive rip off, that's a big part of why I'm in OsGrid.
[2018/10/20 11:52] Snoots Dwagon: Big ol' question
[2018/10/20 11:52] Jack olantern: so what is the solution to get a offical opensim viewer that will not hold opensim back? :)
[2018/10/20 11:52] TIGGS Beaumont: so a NC would be possible if we could list each viwer and its laod pages...without giving any preferential treatment right?
[2018/10/20 11:52] TIGGS Beaumont: sort of help the new entrants?
[2018/10/20 11:52] Snoots Dwagon: So are we, as a community, going to stick with Firestorm, or is there REAL interest in developing a top-notch Opensim Viewer?
[2018/10/20 11:52] cilla teebrook: i have an announcement before ya all leave
[2018/10/20 11:53] TIGGS Beaumont: yes lady Cilla?
[2018/10/20 11:53] Jack olantern: we need peopel with big brains and small egos to get an OS viewer :)
[2018/10/20 11:53] albertlr Landar: yea, please Cilla
[2018/10/20 11:53] cilla teebrook:
Koni did a fabulous job on the video!!
come & enjoy
[2018/10/20 11:53] David B0wie: i think it would be helpful to know first what it is that the s/l viewers lack for continued development of opensim
[2018/10/20 11:53] LaNani Sundara: you need a real project team
[2018/10/20 11:53] Snoots Dwagon: " we need peopel with big brains and small egos to get an OS viewer :)" PUTTING THAT ON A SIGN!!!!
[2018/10/20 11:53] Koni Lanzius: :)
[2018/10/20 11:53] Jack olantern: go ahead snoots :)
[2018/10/20 11:54] Jack olantern: hehe
[2018/10/20 11:54] Koni Lanzius: Cilla won the showcse video form the auction, so we had great fun making that for her at her beautiful sim
[2018/10/20 11:54] paela argus: good luck snoots ;)=
[2018/10/20 11:54] LaNani Sundara: .•*♫ ♬ APPlAUSE! ♬♫ *•.
[2018/10/20 11:54] TIGGS Beaumont: <-----small brain, no real ego, lot of vanity, and still no answer to my question heh
[2018/10/20 11:54] Koni Lanzius: :)
[2018/10/20 11:54] Snoots Dwagon: David I could write an article on "The neeed to Re-design virtual viewers"
[2018/10/20 11:54] cilla teebrook: snoots ... do you need clumsy testers?
[2018/10/20 11:54] LaNani Sundara: o was that the URL?
[2018/10/20 11:54] TIGGS Beaumont: Koni Cilla I am looking forward to seeing it
[2018/10/20 11:54] albertlr Landar: Nice Vidoe cilla taht Koni did for you.
[2018/10/20 11:54] cilla teebrook: thank you Koni for you donation..
[2018/10/20 11:54] Koni Lanzius: :)
[2018/10/20 11:54] cilla teebrook: it's on my Profile
[2018/10/20 11:54] Koni Lanzius: brillaint!
[2018/10/20 11:55] Koni Lanzius: she has a lovely sim everyone should go check it out!
[2018/10/20 11:55] LaNani Sundara: watching :)
[2018/10/20 11:55] TIGGS Beaumont: she does Koni It is one I send newbs to
[2018/10/20 11:55] Romulun Rockett: well if you insist on starting from scratch (and re-inventing the wheel) then I'd look at all the existing viewers and pick the best points of each to incorperate in the new viewer. Like FS doing 99% hollow where singularity only dose 95%
[2018/10/20 11:56] cilla teebrook: giggles ... just say .. there is a lot of Texture to rez
[2018/10/20 11:56] TIGGS Beaumont: okay I may get booed out of meeting here, but
[2018/10/20 11:56] LaNani Sundara: you can get FS's source code...
[2018/10/20 11:56] Fu Barr is Online
[2018/10/20 11:56] Snoots Dwagon: I got link, will watch later
[2018/10/20 11:56] TIGGS Beaumont: I adore and respect all of you develoers immensely, I learn here each meeting, however......
[2018/10/20 11:56] TIGGS Beaumont: (here goes) this has turned into a developers meeting
[2018/10/20 11:56] TIGGS Beaumont: <---hushes now
[2018/10/20 11:57] Jack olantern: boo
[2018/10/20 11:57] paela argus: make a viewer of no one use it for me is lost time
[2018/10/20 11:57] Jack olantern: boo
[2018/10/20 11:57] TIGGS Beaumont: heh jack
[2018/10/20 11:57] albertlr Landar: Well the Kokua was suppost to be opensim mainly, but it has slowed down due to a lack of developers to port it over to linux and Mac
[2018/10/20 11:57] paela argus: but is my personnal think
[2018/10/20 11:57] Jack olantern: boos at tiggs :)
[2018/10/20 11:57] cilla teebrook: i thought the same thing but I was very interested in what was said.
[2018/10/20 11:57] Snoots Dwagon: We actually do't need a NEW viewer. We just need to alter the current viewer with a better UI, both a beginner and advanced mode, and eliminate the bottlenecks.
[2018/10/20 11:57] LaNani Sundara: *hugs Tiggs
[2018/10/20 11:57] TIGGS Beaumont: yes cilla
[2018/10/20 11:57] TIGGS Beaumont: I guess I need to attend developers meetings too
[2018/10/20 11:57] David B0wie: there was one like that
[2018/10/20 11:57] LaNani Sundara: lovely video
[2018/10/20 11:57] David B0wie: just needs updating for mesh
[2018/10/20 11:58] Koni Lanzius: :)
[2018/10/20 11:58] TIGGS Beaumont: LaNani HUGzs TY
[2018/10/20 11:58] Snoots Dwagon: Kokua was on the right track, but website says "No longer in development"
[2018/10/20 11:58] cilla teebrook: <== tester
[2018/10/20 11:58] albertlr Landar: And the Onlook viewer was a way to set it up for a beginner that Diva started, but it also has stalled.
[2018/10/20 11:58] LaNani Sundara: so anything else about the Halloween events Albert?
[2018/10/20 11:58] David B0wie: Onlook viewer
[2018/10/20 11:58] Koni Lanzius: wut about Alchemy?
[2018/10/20 11:58] David B0wie: i think
[2018/10/20 11:58] Snoots Dwagon: I have tried Alchemy
[2018/10/20 11:58] David B0wie: used to come with outworldz distro
[2018/10/20 11:58] albertlr Landar: Alchemy is developed fro Firestrom.
[2018/10/20 11:58] Snoots Dwagon: Personal opinion: didn't do for builders/scripters
[2018/10/20 11:58] David B0wie: no rlv
[2018/10/20 11:58] cilla teebrook: Boo
[2018/10/20 11:58] TIGGS Beaumont: hehe
[2018/10/20 11:58] Koni Lanzius: ahh

[2018/10/20 11:59] Koni Lanzius: bye Lanani
[2018/10/20 11:59] albertlr Landar: And thanks for coming this week all.
