[11:06] albertlr Landar: And 12th Birthday celebrations set for July 22-28th
[11:06] albertlr Landar: Birthday Regions are up and open for those that wish to claim a exhibit area.
[11:07] albertlr Landar: We will have a teleport board here soon, but you should find one now in lbsa
[11:07] Wizard Atazoth: i looked there earlier, there's already some nice exhibits going up
[11:07] Sandy Beachcomber: it keeps throwing errors on my screen
[11:07] Snoots Dwagon: What kind of errors?
[11:07] albertlr Landar: We have also set the dates for the next Fundraiser for Sept 20-27th.
[11:07] Sandy Beachcomber: script errors
[11:07] albertlr Landar: More about that later.
[11:08] Sandy Beachcomber: sorry
[11:08] Snoots Dwagon: That's because it's Xengine instead of Yengine
[11:08] Snoots Dwagon: I had same problem. Had to re-code my entire exhibit
[11:08] albertlr Landar: yea, depends on what engine is running on each particular region.
[11:08] Arielle Popstar: is yenging the new default?
[11:08] Snoots Dwagon: I have been told it is by the people in charge, yes
[11:09] Sandy Beachcomber: lol
[11:09] Snoots Dwagon: But they haven't officially set it as the default yet
[11:09] Sandy Beachcomber: who were they?
[11:09] Arielle Popstar: not heard that in dev meetings
[11:09] Snoots Dwagon: The Mantis Devs
[11:09] Snoots Dwagon: Well, I takes Mantis with grain of salt. No telling
[11:09] Arielle Popstar: Bill or Ubit?
[11:09] Snoots Dwagon: Bill
[11:09] Arielle Popstar: takes that with a grain of salt
[11:10] Snoots Dwagon: Yeah
[11:10] Sandy Beachcomber: i thought y engine was still in testing
[11:10] Arielle Popstar: me too
[11:10] Snoots Dwagon: I wonders if OSSL is turned on at OSG12 regions?
[11:10] Snoots Dwagon: Well, I admits Bill wasn't very polite about it.
[11:10] Arielle Popstar: i would be asking Ubit
[11:10] Snoots Dwagon: KK
[11:11] albertlr Landar: i would ask Dan about OSSL on Birthday.
[11:11] Snoots Dwagon: KK
[11:11] Arielle Popstar: actually Dan too on the default y engine
[11:11] albertlr Landar: if you need it on a specific exhibit he may be able to arrange it.
[11:11] Snoots Dwagon: But anyways, that's why I had to change all my scriptings, cos I kept getting major errors
[11:11] Sandy Beachcomber: i think most of us work with x engine
[11:11] Snoots Dwagon: So I had to zap it back to Xengine basic
[11:12] Lobo Estepario is Offline
[11:12] Koni Lanzius gave you OSG11B exhibit rules v1.4.
[11:14] albertlr Landar: Well there was one warning that came out this week about ms-sql and mysql
[11:14] Snoots Dwagon: Oh?
[11:14] albertlr Landar: Seems that some chinese hackers have infiltrated some 50,000 servers running those.
[11:14] Snoots Dwagon: gah
[11:14] Kawaii Unicorn: chinese hackers?
[11:15] albertlr Landar: and they have implanted things on their computers.

[11:15] Snoots Dwagon: My password very hard to crack. Is in Dwagon. :D
[11:16] abaddon Debevec: the whole world hacks
[11:16] Koni Lanzius: hehe
[11:16] albertlr Landar: yea
[11:16] Snoots Dwagon: Yup yup yup!
[11:16] Moto Sapa: so what has not been hacked?
[11:16] albertlr Landar: some people set up MySQL with just the standard password.
[11:16] abaddon Debevec: my behind !
[11:16] albertlr Landar: which is dangerous
[11:16] Sandy Beachcomber: my nawty box is still safe
[11:16] Snoots Dwagon: It almost humorous, US is all outraged bout Russians hacking us... like the U.S. not hacking the Russians? :D
[11:17] abaddon Debevec: yes lol
[11:17] albertlr Landar: i hope they do, we need to know what they are up too.
[11:17] Snoots Dwagon: I trying to hack Nabisco...

[11:18] Arielle Popstar: get your intel through Intel!
[11:18] abaddon Debevec: neah sinds x86
[11:18] Sandy Beachcomber: and they worry about "who are we"
[11:19] Moto Sapa: but thats how we get better security by learning
[11:19] abaddon Debevec: I do NOT spy 1 I collect data
[11:19] Snoots Dwagon: Well, for that matter the entire USB structure is hackable, can't stop it, undetectable, and they knew it before they implemented it. Which should be a big clue to consumers...
[11:19] Moto Sapa: blue tooth open door
[11:20] albertlr Landar: The thing that gets me is all the Banks want to use cell phones for security things now.
[11:20] Snoots Dwagon: Why would the government and computer industry giants like Microsoft and Google implement USB when they know all keystrokes can be traced and can't stop it? Hmmmm...
[11:20] abaddon Debevec: LOL yes
[11:21] albertlr Landar: Well i also want to mention again that Wizard has now agreed to join the board of directors as new member.

[11:30] albertlr Landar: they said their next operating system will abandon it for new ways to handle data, etc.
[11:31] Moto Sapa: per to per
[11:31] Snoots Dwagon: Hmmmmm... abandoning like decades and billions of dollars of programs?
[11:31] Arielle Popstar: back to pen and paper
[11:31] Snoots Dwagon: LOL Arielle
[11:31] albertlr Landar: some said that they appear to be going the way of google.
[11:31] Snoots Dwagon: That such a bad idea

[11:33] Moto Sapa: systems are loosing a standardization
[11:33] Snoots Dwagon: I am amazed we can't get a GOOD Android for desktops and laptops
[11:33] Snoots Dwagon: If they did I bet a lotta people would drop Windows

[11:35] Snoots Dwagon: Was on their website. either that or Opensim website. i forget which
[11:35] Arielle Popstar: it would be better if there was decent puppeteering

[11:36] Moto Sapa: and a monthly fee
[11:37] albertlr Landar: no
[11:37] albertlr Landar: if you notice we now have our ads at top permanently
[11:37] Koni Lanzius: :)
[11:37] Snoots Dwagon: Is there anything special we need to know about OSG12? Something vital but not mentioned yet? : )
[11:37] Arielle Popstar: ok
[11:37] Arielle Popstar: good start
[11:37] Koni Lanzius: Aussie's Awesome parties!
[11:37] albertlr Landar: i found a way to feature our things

[11:38] Snoots Dwagon: You're right there Wiz
[11:38] Moto Sapa: people have been asking about selling in world rl things?
[11:38] Arielle Popstar: why not just tell them to advertise in their own channel?
[11:38] Arielle Popstar: Osgrid numbers are dropping imo
[11:39] Snoots Dwagon: Wow that interesting. I have honestly never thought about selling RL items inworld
[11:39] albertlr Landar: because we want to have info for events all of opensim.
[11:39] Snoots Dwagon: I can't believe that never occurred to me
[11:39] Snoots Dwagon: Hi da Phil
[11:39] Arielle Popstar: enough other places for that
[11:39] Arielle Popstar: imo
[11:39] Snoots Dwagon: Well yea, but I got KEWL stuff. :D

[11:41] cilla teebrook: lol
[11:41] Moto Sapa: kazoo any one can play
[11:41] Snoots Dwagon sneaks in https://etsy.com/shop/wishbringer
[11:42] Snoots Dwagon looks innocently around room and whistles
[11:42] albertlr Landar: well if tariffs keep getting added to imports we may not be able to afford anything from abroad.
[11:42] Snoots Dwagon: Oops did I types that out loud?
[11:42] Snoots Dwagon: yeah Albertlr, I been watching that info.
[11:42] Snoots Dwagon: That is interesting what's going on there
[11:43] Arielle Popstar: not in opensim yet
[11:43] Moto Sapa: just governments getting more money out of its own people
[11:43] albertlr Landar: yep
[11:43] Snoots Dwagon: Well, the problem is China is taking advantage of an ancient agreement with the Post Office and competing with U.S. merchants by offering free shipping, when U.S. merchants don't have that ability.
[11:43] Snoots Dwagon: Makes for VERY uneven Internet trade
[11:44] Moto Sapa: but where does it go to what department how is it used who has control of questions not asked
[11:44] Snoots Dwagon: Good questions
[11:44] albertlr Landar: well if you have prim you get free shipping
[11:44] Moto Sapa: control*
[11:44] Arielle Popstar: lets keep this to osgrid business
[11:44] Snoots Dwagon: I offer free shipping on all prims! :D
[11:44] Snoots Dwagon: mwahahahahahaha...
[11:44] albertlr Landar: and at the same time you can designate a part of your purchase to go towards OSGrid.
[11:44] Snoots Dwagon: Yeah Arielle sory, kinda got sidetracked there
[11:45] Snoots Dwagon: <--- Uses Amazon Smile to donate to OSgrid
[11:45] albertlr Landar: as we are a designated 501(c)3 organization
[11:45] Arielle Popstar: interesting aside but yes, like i said, i see Osgrid numbers dropping concurrency wise
[11:45] albertlr Landar: and thank you Snoots we appreciate the support
[11:45] Snoots Dwagon: Dropping how much Arielle?
[11:46] Snoots Dwagon: And over what period of time?
[11:46] albertlr Landar whispers: Have you looked at last months data on
[11:46] albertlr Landar: Hypergrid Business, that says something different.
[11:46] Arielle Popstar: no specific stats but concurrency definitely is less by 10-20 at any given time from say a year ago
[11:47] albertlr Landar: https://www.hypergridbusiness.com/2019/ ... ts-update/
[11:47] Sandy Beachcomber: its only empirical but lbsa has got busier recently imho
[11:47] Snoots Dwagon: Over the years I've noted that concurrency regularly goes up and down, depending on the time of year
[11:47] albertlr Landar: Summer is always the slower time of year.
[11:47] Snoots Dwagon: Exactly
[11:47] abaddon Debevec: back
[11:47] Snoots Dwagon: OvvO Welcome... back... OvvO
[11:48] Snoots Dwagon: But since OSgrid performance has improved significantly since October, I'd say it's not due to performance issues.
[11:48] Snoots Dwagon: OSgrid is running better than ever before imo
[11:48] albertlr Landar: seems to me that OSgrid being at the top seems to be a pretty good sign of things going well.
[11:48] Snoots Dwagon: Yup yup yup!
[11:48] Arielle Popstar: performance is due to throttles being made flexible
[11:49] Arielle Popstar: just dont use the official opensim release
[11:49] albertlr Landar: thats a tech problem talk with those that control that.
[11:49] Snoots Dwagon: Whatever they did, it was like giving OSgrid a steroid shot. :D
[11:49] albertlr Landar: and there are ways around it.
[11:49] Snoots Dwagon: Arielle, which release is best to use? Latest OSgrid one?
[11:49] Arielle Popstar: or Lanani's
[11:49] Snoots Dwagon: KK
[11:49] Snoots Dwagon: I got LaNani's. Been itching to try it
[11:50] Snoots Dwagon: Just gotta find the time to switch it out
[11:50] Arielle Popstar: Ubit did make a couple nice changes to the latest though
[11:50] Snoots Dwagon: HI da Kevin!
[11:50] Arielle Popstar: i dont think Lanani has incorporated as yet
[11:50] Snoots Dwagon: KK
[11:50] Snoots Dwagon: <--- still isn't 100% sure how to update from one version to newest
[11:50] Kevin Glomas: hi snoots
[11:51] Moto Sapa: gppd question snoots
[11:51] Moto Sapa: good
[11:51] Arielle Popstar: Hi Kevin
[11:51] Kevin Glomas: hi arielle
[11:52] Snoots Dwagon: What I need is a "Dummies guide to Upgrading OSgrid". :D
[11:52] TP Hud v3.1-Mine: Listener Turned On
[11:52] Snoots Dwagon: In simple terms: do this, keep that, throw away that, exchange that...
[11:52] Sandy Beachcomber: try it
[11:52] Moto Sapa: same here
[11:52] Arielle Popstar: mostly just do a file compare of opensim.ini and the ossl one
[11:52] Sandy Beachcomber: if it dont work
[11:52] Sandy Beachcomber: fix it
[11:52] cilla teebrook: Would Foxx be the one to ask
[11:52] Snoots Dwagon: Ah KK ARielle
[11:53] Snoots Dwagon: And of course the Region.ini
[11:53] albertlr Landar: Well if you just back up all your ini files, and then copy them into the new one. That is mainly what you need to do.
[11:53] Snoots Dwagon: Ah KK
[11:53] Snoots Dwagon: That's not hard
[11:53] TP Hud v3.1-Mine: The Listener is Turned off because you did not click to TP, choose another destination
[11:53] Sandy Beachcomber: that usually works
[11:53] albertlr Landar: but check to make sure not changes were made to the standard ini files occasionally.
[11:53] Snoots Dwagon: I had someone tell me last night "that's not a good idea" but didn't say way
[11:53] Snoots Dwagon: why
[11:53] Arielle Popstar: what albertr said though may have to just do a file compare in case of anything new
[11:53] Sandy Beachcomber: like new features
[11:53] Snoots Dwagon: Yeah, that's what spooks e
[11:53] Snoots Dwagon: e
[11:54] Snoots Dwagon: grrr
[11:54] Snoots Dwagon: ME
[11:54] Snoots Dwagon: mwahahahahahaha...
[11:54] albertlr Landar: you can do that with notepad++
[11:54] Snoots Dwagon: Yeah
[11:54] Snoots Dwagon: <--- luvs notepad ++
[11:54] Sandy Beachcomber: that is a great tool
[11:54] Arielle Popstar: this is something to pay attention to in the new one http://opensimulator.org/mantis/view.php?id=8535
[11:55] Arielle Popstar: if you upload mesh
[11:55] albertlr Landar: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v7.7.html
[11:55] albertlr Landar: for those that don't have notepad++
[11:55] abaddon Debevec: mousepad :)
[11:55] Moto Sapa: what is latest osgrid version?
[11:56] Wizard Atazoth: notepad++ rules
[11:56] Arielle Popstar: https://www.osgrid.org/download.php
[11:56] Snoots Dwagon: Does. One of best programs I've ever used. I like how it keeps recent edits on-screen. Great for editing often-edited files.
[11:56] Arielle Popstar: OSgrid OpenSimulator 0.9.1.dev.0e2adbe - [zip] [35.3mb] 05-14-2019
[11:57] Snoots Dwagon: <--- can hardly wait to upgrade all three of my VARs .ini files line by line...
[11:57] Arielle Popstar: :)
[11:58] Arielle Popstar: its not that bad :)
[11:58] Snoots Dwagon: mwahahahahahaha...
[11:58] Arielle Popstar: less work then reconfiguring a new FS install
[11:59] Snoots Dwagon: I just wanna say as a relative newbie just settled up last September... I'm doing stuff on OSgrid I never thought would be possible.
[11:59] Snoots Dwagon: And I love it
[11:59] Snoots Dwagon: I came here from Inworldz...and never imagined what a 5x5 VAR would be like. Is AWESOME!
[11:59] albertlr Landar: well looks like we have reached the top of the hour for this week. Thanks for coming everyone, please check the forums for more info on upcoming Birthday events
[11:59] Snoots Dwagon: Never thought about owning my own server
[11:59] albertlr Landar: Well its sure easier to maintain.
[11:59] Snoots Dwagon: Okies
[11:59] Arielle Popstar: wondered how inworldz peeepz lasted so long there
[11:59] Snoots Dwagon: Cos we didn't know any better Arielle. Honestly.
[12:00] albertlr Landar: they were sort of help captive.
[12:00] Snoots Dwagon: Yeah
[12:00] albertlr Landar: held
[12:00] Snoots Dwagon: Like with Windows.:D
[12:00] Sandy Beachcomber: one of lifes mysteries Ari
[12:00] Arielle Popstar: nods must be
[12:00] Snoots Dwagon: Well, Inworldz was a different environment, like a mini-SL, with economy and all
[12:00] Arielle Popstar: and at $75 per region!!!!
[12:00] albertlr Landar: well to an extent SL was like that too.
[12:00] Sandy Beachcomber: but they did have rather good region crossings
[12:00] Phil Prem: ooops sorry about that - stupid anim auto activating on my relog
[12:00] jorink devin is Offline
[12:00] Snoots Dwagon: yeah, and $75 was considered "cheap" compared to SL
[12:00] Sandy Beachcomber: at times
[12:01] Snoots Dwagon: That's the thing Sandy. Inworldz ran pretty well.
[12:01] Snoots Dwagon: To be honest, until last October Inworldz ran much better than Opensim
[12:01] albertlr Landar: Well bye for this week, will get this chat up sooner this time.
[12:01] Snoots Dwagon: But that change they made last October... wow
[12:01] albertlr Landar: Be back here next week.
[12:01] Sandy Beachcomber: a pity jim aint coding still
[12:01] Koni Lanzius: bye albirtir
[12:01] Snoots Dwagon: Bye bye!
[12:01] Sandy Beachcomber: bye albert tyvm
[12:01] Arielle Popstar: that was just a short term thing snootz
[12:01] albertlr Landar: And remember Membership meeting the 9th at 11 on Sunday
[12:01] Snoots Dwagon: Short term how Arielle?
[12:02] abaddon Debevec: see you all
[12:02] cilla teebrook: Sunny Jim?
[12:02] albertlr Landar: good day all
[12:02] Koni Lanzius: bye all
[12:02] Sandy Beachcomber: Jim Tarber
[12:02] Wizard Atazoth: snoots make sure you have oar backup. Download latest build. Then copy over your regions.ini settings, connection string from gridcommon.ini, changes you made to osslenable.ini and opensim.ini and your good to go usually.
[12:02] cilla teebrook: ok
[12:02] Arielle Popstar: it was solely due to throttles put in the code
[12:02] Arielle Popstar: hard coded
[12:02] Snoots Dwagon: ty Wizard
[12:02] Arielle Popstar: made mesh loading super slow
[12:02] Arielle Popstar: for avatars
[12:02] Moto Sapa: can we quote you wiz
[12:03] Snoots Dwagon: LOL Moto
[12:03] Snoots Dwagon: I gonna quote hims
[12:03] TP Hud v3.1-Mine: Listener Turned On
