10:55] albertlr Landar: hello Melodee
[10:55] Melodee Moonsong: hello
[10:56] albertlr Landar: et bonjour
[10:56] Melodee Moonsong: haha, bonjour
[10:56] Arya Paul: Hello all
[10:57] Melodee Moonsong: hi Arya
[10:57] George Equus is Online
[10:57] albertlr Landar: hello Arya
[10:58] Arya Paul: Pulling my hair out trying to get my sims up....so I came here for R&R :)
[10:58] albertlr Landar: hello George
[10:58] Arya Paul: Hi George
[10:58] Melodee Moonsong: hi George
[10:58] albertlr Landar: well a good one to ask for help is Foxx Bode if having problems with routers or internet.
[10:58] George Equus: Hi Albert, Arya, Wizard,Melodee
[10:59] albertlr Landar: I had to set mine up with two routers, and he walked me through it successfully.
[10:59] Arya Paul: Yes, he is. I'm not sure if it's that. Some instances come up fine, one is throwing weird errors
[10:59] Arya Paul: it was up earlier today and fine
[11:00] Arya Paul: and I'm having problems crashing when I teleport too...but I understand I"m not alone in that
[11:00] albertlr Landar: well sorry to hear that.
[11:01] Arya Paul: oh it will get straightened out eventually....I just needed a break away from it :)
[11:01] Wizard Atazoth: what errors?
[11:01] albertlr Landar: yea, thats how I solve most problems, walk away and a solution comes to you sometimes.
[11:02] Arya Paul: this is a fine example: Regions Hammock Sea1 and Hammock Sea1 have the same UUID 24bad313-2ea2-11e3-ab7e-0801300c9a66
[11:02] Arya Paul: notice it's referencing the same region name twice
[11:03] Wizard Atazoth: They have the same uuid in regions.ini?
[11:03] Arya Paul: there is no THEY
[11:03] Arya Paul: it is one
[11:03] Wizard Atazoth: oh wait they are the same name hmm
[11:03] Arya Paul: yes
[11:03] Arya Paul: last night it was all fine....today that instance is a nightmare
[11:04] Wizard Atazoth: tried purging it on osgrid.org?
[11:04] Arya Paul: it's mostly water sims...but the one that DID have stuff on it (hours of work) is now nothing but water LOL
[11:04] Arya Paul: Oh, I've purged everything....restarted everything
[11:04] Melodee Moonsong: omg, this sounds famiiar to me, also
[11:04] Arya Paul: yes, on osgrid.org
[11:05] Arya Paul: you, too, Melodee?
[11:05] Melodee Moonsong: yes, but I am stil learning
[11:05] Melodee Moonsong: I could be making errors
[11:05] Melodee Moonsong: or just dealing with variances in internet
[11:05] Arya Paul: well, I've been running these for years....and yesterday they were fine :)
[11:05] Wizard Atazoth: hm i havent ran into that issue
[11:05] George Equus: Hi Verna
[11:06] Verna Avril: Hello George
[11:06] Melodee Moonsong: hi Verna
[11:06] George Equus: Hello Jeff
[11:06] Arya Paul: Hi Jeff
[11:06] Melodee Moonsong: hi Jeff
[11:06] Jeff Hall: hi George and everyone
[11:08] Jeff Hall gave you scr_Opensim_Updater_V1a.
[11:08] Verna Avril: i am just starting the learning curve my console is up and running 2 regions blank land for a few days to see what is needed and i have a mentor
[11:09] Jeff Hall: ping me if u want Verna:)
[11:09] Verna Avril: thank you Jeff
[11:10] albertlr Landar: And Hi Jeff.
[11:11] Arya Paul: Enjoy, Verna! It's a slippery slope...soon you'll be a Land Baroness ;)
[11:11] Jeff Hall: haha
[11:11] Jeff Hall: is cool to run your own servers yes
[11:11] Verna Avril: That is what i am afraid of i have a big imagination
[11:12] Arya Paul: Hey Jeff, I remember a long time ago you said you only wanted the one region. Look at you now! :)
[11:12] Jeff Hall: do everything from building to managing servers and databases
[11:12] Jeff Hall: hi Arya and yes;)
[11:13] Verna Avril: we stripped one of my pc win10 and put on Linux was a major hurdle
[11:13] Verna Avril: and use it for a server only
[11:13] Foxx Bode is Online
[11:14] Arya Paul: i keep looking at my little Mac Mini server that's been running 24/7 for 7 years now without a hiccup and wondering how long my luck will hold out...
[11:15] Foxx Bode: -*- HeLlO-*-
[11:15] albertlr Landar: greetings foxx nice to have you drop in.
[11:15] George Equus: Hi Foxx
[11:15] Arya Paul: Hey Foxx
[11:15] Melodee Moonsong: hi Foxx
[11:15] Jeff Hall: hey foxx
[11:16] George Equus: Same here Arya, 10 year old laptop running 24/7 7-8 years now
[11:16] Arya Paul: Fingers crossed, right? :)
[11:16] Jeff Hall: Arya is taking care of her Control Command Center
[11:17] Jeff Hall: 10/4 over
[11:17] Arya Paul: LOL
[11:17] George Equus: Uhum... expect it to just quit any time
[11:17] Arya Paul: I bought an iMac Pro when I retired. My husband thinks it's just an auxiliary monitor for my other iMac and I'm not telling him ANY different!
[11:17] George Equus: hehe
[11:17] Arya Paul: Just be sure to keep backups, George!!
[11:18] George Equus: Oh I do
[11:18] George Equus: when the day comes it is matter of loading an image on to new system and fire it up
[11:19] George Equus: got a spare around in a cupboard
[11:19] Arya Paul: :)
[11:19] George Equus: just as old but never really used
[11:19] Arya Paul: so, NEW! ;)
[11:20] George Equus: 16GB RAM and fast enough to manage a modest setup
[11:20] George Equus: New yes, unused
[11:21] George Equus: start it up now and then for battery maintenance
[11:25] albertlr Landar: So I see that Hypergrid Business had an article about an opensim users that had modified a version of Firestorm to support the Virtual Reality Glasses.
[11:25] albertlr Landar: https://www.hypergridbusiness.com/2019/ ... l-reality/
[11:27] Arya Paul: Interesting
[11:29] Jeff Hall: i would like to see a 3D stereoscopic using glasses and not a headset
[11:29] Jeff Hall: on screen
[11:30] albertlr Landar: yea, that would be nice, maybe would not cause the problems of nausea with some people.
[11:30] George Equus: Headset will never hit mass market I think,
[11:30] Jeff Hall: yes and also i like to sip coffee and look at windows outside too (...)
[11:30] Melodee Moonsong: thanks everyone, I enjoyed this. I have to leave now. Bye bye
[11:30] Verna Avril: yes
[11:30] Jeff Hall: bye melodee
[11:30] albertlr Landar: ok bye Melodee take care.
[11:31] George Equus: Won't take off until we get neural connections...
[11:31] Arya Paul: Can I ask a Server Command question?
[11:31] Jeff Hall: we have photo analyst at work who use that technique with 3D view and polarized glasses with screen
[11:32] Arya Paul: I want to upload only the ground level stuff from an oar (there's tons of space junk over 1000 m). Isn't there a command to do that?
[11:32] George Equus: very different from moving in a rd environment though
[11:32] George Equus: *3D
[11:32] jorink devin is Offline
[11:32] Arya Paul: sorry ..didn't mean to interrupt...
[11:32] albertlr Landar: thats ok.
[11:33] George Equus: np ask away
[11:33] Jeff Hall: if u had DEM it would be easy with terrain.load
[11:33] Jeff Hall: how about restoring oar and delete all prims directly in database Arya?
[11:33] Arya Paul: because I don't know how to do that :)
[11:34] Jeff Hall: DELETE * from PRIMS;
[11:34] albertlr Landar: Well have you checked with the wiki.
[11:34] Arya Paul: That's my next stop. This fresh hell only began an hour or two ago :)
[11:37] albertlr Landar: you can use the displacement command, as it lets you specify the x, y and z coordinates. But if you try that not sure what would happen to the assets above a certain height.
[11:37] Arya Paul: okay
[11:38] albertlr Landar: could always experiment and see if that works, then just delete the region if it does not work as you want.
[11:38] Arya Paul: This is what I get for not making a new oar after I manually deleted all the space junk a couple of days ago. Today everything is hosed.
[11:38] Arya Paul: that's true.
[11:38] Arya Paul: I'm just whining because I did a lot of work there yesterday LOL
[11:39] albertlr Landar: well we have all been through that, after though will get you ever time.
[11:39] Arya Paul: yup
[11:39] albertlr Landar: "if I had only.... etc."
[11:39] Arya Paul: I'm just stymied by it more than anything else.
[11:39] albertlr Landar: I do that with software installations all the time.
[11:40] albertlr Landar: I wanted it to go somewhere other than where it was installed.
[11:40] Arya Paul: I walked around it last night, enjoying it....had everything the way I wanted it. Today it's gone
[11:40] Arya Paul: yeh - stuff should go where we MEANT for it to go, not where we actually TOLD it to go ;)
[11:40] Jeff Hall: odd
[11:41] Foxx Bode: next time after much changes, type "backup" in simulator, and wait until is done writing prims to persistent
[11:43] George Equus: I simply make an OAR when doing extensive work
[11:44] Arya Paul: THanks Foxx.. Making a NC of that (since my memory is shot!)
[11:44] George Equus: easy to make, easy to restore
[11:45] Jeff Hall: Foxx says will just make sure its all written to database but, after a moment, it gets all written automatically
[11:46] Jeff Hall: ie if u made lots of changes and want to do an oar immediately you'd make sure its all backed up in DB before
[11:46] Jeff Hall: *lots
[11:47] George Equus: #change region blabla #save oar blabla-date.oar
[11:48] Arya Paul: it's not the how, it's the remembering to do it :)
[11:48] Jeff Hall: haha
[11:48] George Equus: right...
[11:49] Jeff Hall: well u can automate that too a Arya if u want
[11:49] Arya Paul: Good thing I enjoy tinkering....
[11:50] Jeff Hall: or stamp a post-it on your screen while building
[11:50] Jeff Hall: "save OAR" on your post-it
[11:52] Arya Paul: Gotta run - RL is calling. thanks for the tips! :) Catch {{y'all}} later!
[11:52] George Equus: cu Arya
[11:52] George Equus: fast one..
[11:53] Jeff Hall: Arya is the female Lucky Luke of logging out: she logs out faster then her shadow
[11:53] Jeff Hall: *than
[11:53] albertlr Landar: must have gotten an idea to fix things.
[11:54] Jeff Hall: hope its not an alligator in her backyard
[11:54] albertlr Landar: well anyone have anything else to bring up this week.
[11:54] albertlr Landar: Things a little quiet around the web, unlike real world.
[11:54] Jeff Hall: true
[11:54] Verna Avril: No ty i came to listen just started my blank land regions
[11:55] albertlr Landar: well that's always a beginning of greater things.
[11:55] Jeff Hall: thats nice Verna
[11:55] Verna Avril: the few issues i will talk to the mentor
[11:55] George Equus: and a good time testing commands
[11:55] Verna Avril: yes i will come back
[11:55] Jeff Hall: i was really proud and happy first time i got on my little mound of earth
[11:56] Verna Avril: yes was a celebration
[11:56] Verna Avril: had a few false starts and the area around the actual region on the ma is messy
[11:56] albertlr Landar: I change mine to always be square, as I always need as much land as possible.
[11:56] George Equus: yes just managing getting online... after two months of frustration
[11:56] Verna Avril: i purged it but they are still on the map
[11:56] Jeff Hall: takes few days Verna
[11:57] Jeff Hall: dont worry it will disappear
[11:57] George Equus: my old location took its sweet time
[11:57] Verna Avril: ty
[11:57] George Equus: weeks
[11:57] Verna Avril: i will go now have a good day
[11:57] George Equus: but eventually it will be gone
[11:57] Jeff Hall: bye Verna
[11:57] Verna Avril: bye
[11:57] George Equus: Bye verna
[11:58] albertlr Landar: bye verna.
[11:58] albertlr Landar: Well I guess we should adjourn also as things wind down.
[11:58] Jeff Hall: ty albert
[11:58] Jeff Hall: oh before i go
[11:58] George Equus: Thank you Albert
[11:58] albertlr Landar: Thanks for coming everyone, be back next week if no hurricanes decide to form in Atlantic
[11:59] Jeff Hall: please people pass the word to others for offering items for auction
[11:59] albertlr Landar: They do say a tropical storm may be coming soon at least.
[11:59] albertlr Landar: Yes, auction items are encouraged.
[11:59] George Equus: Bye all
[11:59] albertlr Landar: welll take care everyone, bye.
[11:59] Jeff Hall: have a nice Saturday everyone
