[10:46] Wizard Atazoth: Greetings ^_^
[10:46] albertlr Landar: Hi Wizard and Jagga
[10:46] albertlr Landar: Hope everyone is well and safe.
[10:47] Jagga Meredith: so quick question you guys might be able to answer. On the Adonis hud, what does the quadrant of 9 tiles do above the ones that do body colour and hair?
[10:47] albertlr Landar: That one is beyond me, I guess that is in regards to the mesh hud.
[10:47] Jagga Meredith: yes
[10:48] Jagga Meredith: I'm writing up documentation and I can't get it to do anything
[10:48] albertlr Landar: so far I have stayed away from that, but perhaps someone with better knowledge will come today.
[10:48] Jagga Meredith: ok
[10:48] albertlr Landar: I am struggling with going with ATT TV and shutting down DirecTV
[10:48] Wizard Atazoth: i dont even wear a body here :p
[10:49] Jagga Meredith: I'm also going to be asking about icecast and having a server inside a firewall without NAT loopback/hairpin. Still haven't got that working
[10:49] albertlr Landar: Ok the person to talk to is Foxx Bode.
[10:49] Jagga Meredith: yep
[10:49] albertlr Landar: He is the expert on Internet and all the settings.
[10:49] Jagga Meredith: yeah, he's helped me with a lot of stuff
[10:49] Jagga Meredith: and I've written some docs for him
[10:49] albertlr Landar: I think he told me that he only ran into one person he could not help so far.
[10:50] Jagga Meredith: we talked about it, he said he was going to look it up if I didn't get it working
[10:50] Jagga Meredith: icecast is new
[10:50] Wizard Atazoth: for icecast aslong as the ports are accessable it should work
[10:50] albertlr Landar: yea, he knows this better than any of us.
[10:50] albertlr Landar: Hello Verna
[10:51] Verna Avril: hello albertir am i late or early
[10:51] Verna Avril: i can never remember if 10 or 11
[10:52] Jagga Meredith: ports are accessible, but when I try to set up the mounts I get errors because it wants SSL configured
[10:52] Wizard Atazoth: ahh
[10:52] Jagga Meredith: 11 - youre early
[10:52] Verna Avril: ty
[10:52] Verna Avril: icecast and MIXXX many are not getting it to work
[10:53] Wizard Atazoth: you might have to install Let's Encrypt for ssl to generate certs, or disable ssl in the config files.
[10:53] Verna Avril: cataplexia was trying to get it to work
[10:54] Verna Avril: i will make a note of that
[10:54] Jagga Meredith: OK, I"ll try let's encrypt, saw it in one of the docs
[10:55] Verna Avril: disable ossl? in a region to make it work?
[10:55] Jagga Meredith: not my region
[10:55] Jagga Meredith: I'm working with cat on stuff. I'll talk to her
[10:56] Verna Avril: i was trying to understand Wiz
[10:56] Wizard Atazoth: nah, ssl for the web address. secure socket layer. different from ossl
[10:56] Jagga Meredith: yep
[10:56] Wizard Atazoth: basically the https on websites. (the s at the end)
[10:57] Jagga Meredith: glad somebody knows what I'm talking about
[10:57] Jagga Meredith: wish i did
[10:57] Wizard Atazoth: lol
[10:57] albertlr Landar: ossl on works on OSgrid and opensim, SSL is universal all over the internet
[10:57] Wizard Atazoth: yup
[10:58] albertlr Landar: basically indentifies that a website is really who they claim to be.
[10:58] Wizard Atazoth: there is a big push to encrypt every domain now
[10:58] Verna Avril: ok
[10:59] albertlr Landar: google crome does not want to go to a webstie that does not have proper ssl certificates.
[10:59] Verna Avril: i use to write text for websites in the early years of internet
[10:59] Danger Lytton is Offline
[11:00] Verna Avril: i could sit in my rl office and do it in lax times at my desk
[11:00] Danger Lytton is Online
[11:01] Verna Avril: website makers got big money in those days for making a website and paid others to write the text
[11:01] Verna Avril: that was before you could make your own
[11:01] George Equus is Online
[11:02] albertlr Landar: yea, today you just tell an app to do it for you after answering questions
[11:02] George Equus: Evening all .)
[11:02] albertlr Landar: hello George
[11:02] Verna Avril: i have written text for everything from road construction equipment to haircuts in Nashville
[11:03] Verna Avril: i wrote text for ecigs when they were new and how they worked
[11:03] albertlr Landar: you could probably make some money telling people how to cut their own hair at home now.
[11:03] albertlr Landar: safely
[11:03] Jagga Meredith: Currently I have to VPN to get to my region, because of lack of NAT loopback/hairpin on my router.
[11:04] Verna Avril: hahahhaa
[11:04] Jagga Meredith: Why would some places not DNS resolve while on VPN but will off VPN?
[11:04] Jagga Meredith: eg. music at the venue another alt is at right now
[11:05] Verna Avril: i have a fb for my avatar and some one ask what is a good cyberpunk haircut and i wrote ... a guy with a pair of scissors
[11:06] Wizard Atazoth: some websites block vpn's. if you have stealth options it might work better.
[11:06] Wizard Atazoth: or change vpn server
[11:06] Jagga Meredith: there's an idea. I'm on a Canadian server, i'll try a US one
[11:06] Foxx Bode is Online
[11:07] Wizard Atazoth: yea i use one, sometimes i have to jump around countries.
[11:09] Ubit Umarov is Online
[11:09] Kayaker Magic is Online
[11:10] Verna Avril: Virtual reality got a catapult forward avatars and VR will go mainstream for everything now
[11:10] Jagga Meredith: just downloaded linux firestorm. Will it run on Ubuntu?
[11:10] Ubit Umarov is Offline
[11:11] Verna Avril: I have it on my Linux Ubuntu no difference in working
[11:11] Ubit Umarov is Online
[11:11] albertlr Landar: it should work
[11:11] Jagga Meredith: If I'm running on same hardware as server/region, can I use it to access directly ie ? That might solve my problems right there
[11:12] albertlr Landar: Hello Kayaker
[11:12] albertlr Landar: welcome
[11:12] albertlr Landar: well here is Foxx ask him.
[11:12] Kayaker Magic: Helo everyone
[11:12] Jagga Meredith: hey Foxx
[11:12] Foxx Bode: -*- HeLlO-*-
[11:12] Jagga Meredith: still h aving trouble getting into my region inside my firewall due to lack of NAT hairpin
[11:12] Verna Avril: hello
[11:13] Jagga Meredith: only instructions I h ave are for Raspberri pi
[11:13] Jagga Meredith: currently using VPN which sucks
[11:13] Lobo Estepario is Online
[11:13] Jagga Meredith: if I put firestorm on the server itself, can I access directly ie
[11:13] George Equus: Hi Foxx, Kayaker
[11:14] Foxx Bode: if its a standalone, yes, if is a region here, no.
[11:14] Wizard Atazoth: if you are running robust or standalone it might work that way.
[11:14] Jagga Meredith: it's here
[11:14] Foxx Bode: opensim demands to connect on the IP / address listed in regions.ini
[11:14] Jagga Meredith: aw crap
[11:15] Foxx Bode: hence the connection reset as you come in on its local server adress. No listerener there, its expects your public IP as packet source,
[11:16] Jagga Meredith: so the instructions I have say you can make a workaround using dnsmasq
[11:16] Jagga Meredith: have local UNIX server do DNS for inside firewall instead of your router, have router use it as secondary address
[11:16] Jagga Meredith: does that make sense?
[11:17] Foxx Bode: yes, makes sense. But still depends a bit on how firmware of your devices works.
[11:17] Jagga Meredith: ok
[11:17] Jagga Meredith: I"ll hack at it ok
[11:17] Jagga Meredith: I'll hack at it some more
[11:17] Foxx Bode: traffic destined for internet is sent to gateway
[11:18] Ubit Umarov is Offline
[11:18] Foxx Bode: it doesnrt expect a server to be in your local network. And if its resolving to and adrs in your LAN, some routers will just tell your machine to adress the packets locally, which makes sense, but is not what we want to archieve.
[11:18] Ubit Umarov is Online
[11:19] LaNani Sundara is Online
[11:19] Jagga Meredith: yep
[11:19] dan banner is Offline
[11:20] Foxx Bode: The Microsoft loopback adapter just doesnt send packets to router, and doesnt alter IP header,
[11:20] dan banner is Online
[11:20] Foxx Bode: so it limits use to viewer and server being on same machine
[11:20] Foxx Bode: other LAN pc's wont work, as they have to traverse the router
[11:20] Cuteulala Artis is Offline
[11:21] Jagga Meredith: so is there a linux/Ubuntu version of the Microsoft loopback adaptor?
[11:21] Jagga Meredith: I don't mind having Firestorm on the server. It would only be for quick fixes
[11:21] Foxx Bode: not that i know of, i believe they do it with IPtables.
[11:21] Jagga Meredith: ah
[11:22] Jagga Meredith: *Imagines everybody else sitting around thinking "WTF?"*
[11:22] Jagga Meredith: I'll shut up now
[11:23] Verna Avril: i am on fs win10 pc for viewer and rarely use the fs on the linux i use as a server
[11:23] Foxx Bode: that might be insigtfull :)
[11:23] Verna Avril: is only for back up viewer
[11:24] Jagga Meredith: oh kewl, haven't seen that one
[11:25] Lobo Estepario is Offline
[11:25] Lobo Estepario is Online
[11:25] Foxx Bode: I'd now tell you a joke about NAT but you'd have to translate it.....
[11:25] Foxx Bode: -* Ba-Dum-Tsss *-
[11:25] Wizard Atazoth: lol
[11:26] Jagga Meredith: *groans*
[11:27] Lobo Estepario is Offline
[11:27] Lobo Estepario is Online
[11:27] Jagga Meredith: now that there's more people here, on the Adonis HUD, does anybody know what the cluster of 9 colours tiles does above the line of tiles you use to set body colour and h air?
[11:28] Cuteulala Artis is Online
[11:28] Verna Avril: not all the functions of HUDS from SL work here
[11:29] Jagga Meredith: ok
[11:30] Lobo Estepario is Offline
[11:30] Verna Avril: llike you cannot save a setting
[11:30] Lobo Estepario is Online
[11:30] Verna Avril: and not all buttons work
[11:30] Jagga Meredith: ok
[11:31] Ubit Umarov is Offline
[11:32] Ubit Umarov is Online
[11:33] Verna Avril: i loaded one each of the men's huds trying to help some one and it crossed my eyes so complicated
[11:34] Verna Avril: that was not recent i have no idea what is on them
[11:35] Danger Lytton is Offline
[11:35] Verna Avril: any info on the UTPL entering LBSA?
[11:36] Verna Avril: will they have a coordinator onsite when they drop 38 at a time in LBSA ?
[11:37] Verna Avril: we all struggle to help them and they need a admin for the land on duty to restart the region when it crashes when they have a heavy entry load at same time
[11:37] Chamilla Mocha is Offline
[11:38] Elmo Figaro is Online
[11:38] Foxx Bode: Yeah Dan is in touch with their admin. were working on some possible workarounds for them.

[11:39] albertlr Landar: ok bye
[11:40] albertlr Landar: well how are the displays going on The Birthday Regions.
[11:41] Foxx Bode: last time i was there OSG13B2 had only 2 plots left.
[11:41] Kayaker Magic: Where can I get information on the bithday regions? I don't see mention of it on the WEB page
[11:42] albertlr Landar: And 9 days to go till it kicks off
[11:42] Foxx Bode: yes, thats a thing, i dont think we reached a fifth of active users.
[11:42] albertlr Landar: They are open to be claimed to just talk with one of the Admins to claim a spot
[11:42] Foxx Bode: forums, mewe facebook, openmsomworld, its all shattered in to tiny groups
[11:43] Jagga Meredith: it's on the logon page
[11:43] albertlr Landar: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6566
[11:43] albertlr Landar: Here are the rules and info in the forums
[11:44] albertlr Landar: To claim a spot on the regions just contact any Admin for assistance, you have two here today.
[11:44] albertlr Landar: Don't count me.
[11:45] albertlr Landar: I can't get AT&T TV set up.
[11:45] albertlr Landar: still trying
[11:45] Jagga Meredith: I'd come help but I can't cross the border
[11:45] albertlr Landar: neither can we.
[11:45] albertlr Landar: They are setting up road blocks in some states now.
[11:46] albertlr Landar: And on Indian Reservations.
[11:46] albertlr Landar: will be glad when and if the world gets back to normal if that will be possible.
[11:46] albertlr Landar: as most people express themselves
[11:49] Em Jannings is Online
[11:49] Ubit Umarov is Online
[11:50] Jagga Meredith: So here's my theory. RL is a simulation written to preserve the culture of civilization, sort of a museum, a civilization killed off by this virus. We are currently in a beta of the code. And it's turtles all the way down.
[11:52] Jagga Meredith: thanks for all the help
[11:52] Jagga Meredith: RL calling - gotta go
[11:52] Foxx Bode: *-* ByE *-*
[11:52] Jagga Meredith: ....check out the big blue room
[11:52] albertlr Landar: Ok take care
[11:52] Jagga Meredith is Offline
[11:52] Cuteulala Artis is Offline
[11:53] albertlr Landar: ok big blue room?
[11:55] albertlr Landar: since there was no official local fireworks celebrations this year for the 4th, it seemed like all my neighbors where doing it themselves from their back yards.
[11:55] lavender -pretty is Offline
[11:55] albertlr Landar: had to clean debris off my car and driveway.
[11:56] albertlr Landar: just glad no ones house got set on fire.
[11:56] albertlr Landar: however a nearby dumpster was buring for some reason.
[11:56] Foxx Bode: here they are forbidding more and more fireworks
[11:56] albertlr Landar: We use to have a state law, but they decided to change it two years ago.
[11:57] albertlr Landar: Now it seems everyone it doing it.
[11:57] albertlr Landar: people use to go to South Carolina for fireworks, but they have popped up everywhere now, especially in WalMark parking lots.
[11:59] Lobo Estepario is Offline
[11:59] albertlr Landar: Well thanks for coming everyone, looks like things have come to a slow down as we reach 12 noon. So I will say good bye for this week.
