to make this work you need to put the url in the description field of the prim like this:

osgrid.org

make sure you leave the http:// off the URL in the description, then drop this script into the prim.

{L_CODE}:
string site;
string onload_mess;
default {
    state_entry() {
        site = "http://"+llGetObjectDesc();//This makes the string "site" to what is after the =. To change the site change the objects description.
        onload_mess = "Would you like to go to\n"+site+" ?";//Thisis the message that is displayed when the llloadURL function is used.
        llSetText("Touch me to go to "+site,<0,0,1>, 1);///This creates the hovering text above it.
    }
    touch_start(integer total_number) {//When the object is touch this event is called
        llLoadURL(llDetectedKey(0),onload_mess,site);//This makes the blue popup appear that has the option to go to the website
    }
    changed(integer change) {//If the object has changed
        if(change & CHANGED_OWNER) {//If the object has changed its owner.
            llResetScript();//Reset script
        }
    }
}

Thanx nebadon, been meaning to drop a prim to launch the in-viewer browser for some time, well, a few days since I drop on my own region :D
Thing is, I get a busy cursor that won't stop when I go to compile the script.
My Region-server log shows that the script compiles fine and I can close the prim editor and click on the prim and it works alright, am posting from the in-world viewer Media Browser. But still a good five minutes later the busy cursor. Gets annoying :?:
Do you or anyone know if this is another problem with the viewer [am using SL Official 1.19.1(4)] or is it some other miscommunication btwn Region and Viewer?
