Hi All,

We have some questions.. is anyone using the Y scripting engine? If so, how do you find it?
And is it backwards compatible with X scripting engine. Or does everyone have to recompile scripts to use when switching over?

Thanks a :geek:

Hi Govega,

In my opinion, YEngine is better than XEngine. There are several reasons for this.
Please read the YEngine documentation and you will quickly see why.

It is backward compatible, yes and no.
- If you only use LSL/OSSL things like you did with XEngine then yes
- If you also use things unique to YEngine (like switch, break, continue, try, catch, ...) then no.

After a configuration change from X to Y or from Y to X, delete the bin/ScriptEngines folder before restarting.
