Wouldn't it be nice to have a graphical interface for the ini files. I don't know about the rest of you, but I find it a major pain to update dozens of installations of osgrid on my PC. I usually run one or two sims per instance, so this it a real pain scrolling through the ini files updating the new installations with my preferred settings.

Hi.

I too have a number of instances to administer.

So I developed a software system to help me.

It is written for Windows and follows the functionality suggested in the OpenSimulator wiki for backups, restores, upgrades and starting instances, amongst other functions.

It also has a customizable ini file that 'sits on top' of OSGrids standard OpenSim.ini file. So I no longer need to adjust OpenSim.ini anymore. Just the one with my customizations, whenever I have a need.

Would you be interested in testing it?

Sure, I can test it on one of my spare installations, and see how it goes.

If I'm honest, as a day to day Arch linux user I'm no stranger to managing text based config files, but if a tool was going to be written, I'd rather it was done in something like python so that it's easily ported to each OS. I'm sure there are many Linux hosts that would rather have a GUI, too.

If I had the time, I'd write it myself.
